Hello Hello Hivians.
After buggering off to fluff knows where, the sun came back from his holiday today. Which was great but also not the best of good timing for me as there was stuff to be done!
Today was shower day.
It reminded me of being a wee kid years and years ago when we had baths on a Sunday night to conserve water.
I remember one day visiting my parents in Aberdeen and they had a guest. A girl called wee Jenny who used to be our neighbour in Craigavon in Northern Ireland.
Now we left there when I was five so you know I am talking about being a teeny toddler.
Mothers have an uncanny ability to embarrass their children..
Well much to my and indeed Jenny's surprise, out came a couple of pictures that my mother had secretly found of a bath time.
Yes in the tub was a young Edward and a young Jenny having a bath together!
It was kinda cute and a shame that the picture has long since disappeared!
Back to the shower ....
Mrs T had insisted that she wanted to repot some of our plants. Which was fine and dandy, it meant I sourced some houseplant compost and had it delivered.
Well today was that day.
That is what I meant about the sun coming on the wrong day. I fancied going out to Raith Lake to see if there were any new swan babies, as I haven't been out there this year.
Well that never happened as Mrs Green Thumb was knee deep in brow shite compost soil.
But I am glad she did, they were getting root bound and are much happier.
So in I popped to the bathroom and yep some of the plants had just been given a shower.
I wanted to wash my hands ....
More fluffing plants!
Not to worry, I used the kitchen sink.
I went to see what she was upto... there she was on the floor, caressing the fluffing leaves. They get more attention than poor Cinderfella!
Spring cleaning at its finest. The leaves were dust free, clean and green looking!
Not to worry, I took myself off to my sanctuary...
My sanctuary being the kitchen and knocked up an Ed's special.
An Ed's special is basically checking the fridge and seeing what needs eating up before it goes off!
There was mince or ground beef, coriander or cilantro, mushrooms and carrots that all needed eating up.
Spaghetti thought I, and was reminded of the filipino fast food chain Jollibee which has spaghetti. I had my first one last year and was surprised to find that their spaghetti which people often had contained carrots ...
So I added my obligatory bulb of garlic, some red onions and a swathe of hot spices.
I did figure that a hot and spicy spaghetti bolognaise would help get rid of that blasted lingering cold!
Spaghetti was cooked and the dish served up!
Spaghetti Bolognaise Ed's special style
It did its job and was delicious. It will also do for Mrs T's lunch tomorrow!
It most certainly helped cleared my head and I must admit that right now I feel the best I have felt for fluffing weeks!
Roll on a productive and prosperous April for all of us!
Thanks so much for popping in and have a great new week!
