But, if you have not seen that friendship for a long time and you find it by chance, then the joy is much greater and ideas arise from improvisation and, many times, the evening is spectacular.
This happened with Wildemar, a friend from the town where I was born and where my family is from.
Because of these things in life, I had to move from my town in search of new horizons for my life and I ended up in the capital of Cuba, where I currently reside.
On the other hand, Wildemar stayed in Amancio Rodriguez, municipality of Las Tunas, and, although we have kept in touch, we had not seen each other for some time.
He has his brother living in Havana and came to visit him. By those things that are not well explained or that someone calls chance, we met when he was on his way to his brother's house.
You know, hugs, handshakes and invitations to share.
Because of those things in life, my friend and I left for one of the main avenues in Havana and we were sharing, talking about our lives and our families. Suddenly someone said: “Tony” I thought it might be someone else, but, when I heard the voice, I had no doubts because that voice belonged to a friend I had not seen for a long time.
Her name was Mildreidi and, like me, she was the director of a school in Moa, a municipality in eastern Cuba, where we both lived and shared thousands of adventures. She was walking with her husband and, after the usual introductions, the four of us continued our day.
It was a wonderful day in which we shared everything, we visited places that are a must when you go to the capital and we took pictures on the Havana Malecon, an emblematic place of the Caribbean island.
It was an incredible evening and we arranged to meet again at one of our homes.
The next day, Wildemar came to my house fulfilling an invitation I made to him, because, when I go to his town, he is obliged to share a dinner at his house with his family.
Both he and I love cooking and when we visit each other we host and cook the meal.
On this occasion I made him a meal based on pork steak, rice congrí, vegetable salad, yucca, fried plantain and beer to go with the dinner.
They were two very nice days, in which we could see the importance of friendship and how, when a friendship is sincere and true, neither time nor distance matter.
As always, the invitation was made, so that when he returns to my land, to visit his house and have another meeting between friends.
