Hey Hivers, It’s me, again Jera back again with another blog. I’m super excited to share my recent Korean Mart with Friends.
To tell you honestly, this was an experience longgggg overdue! For weeks, we had been planning this Korean mart date but had to postpone it every time because of our busy schedule. And then, finally, we decided that it is time to make it happen, and boy, I am glad we did!
Upon arriving at the Aki Mart (Korean Mart’s name), the friendly and cozy atmosphere and colorful displays filled with all sorts of snacks immediately made us feel right at home. The first thing I noticed was the amazing variety of Korean products. From snacks to instant ramen, everything looked so tasty! But of course, we had our heads set on trying on the very trending spicy buldak and my friends tried their original seaweeds.
We quickly grab some utensils and a pack of the spicy buldak noodles, known for their fiery flavor. The package looked cute though so I was thinking, ah I can handle this one. I don’t think it’s super spicy. So, I was still kind of excited at first. Did it really live up to the hype?
After that, we grabbed some drinks, some toppings for our noodles like cheese, spring onion, and sea weeds. After we got everything, we needed, we prepared and gathered around the kitchen table, ready for out taste test. The aroma of the cooking noodles filled the room, and it made our mouth water. As we served the spicy buldak, I felt excited and curiosity kicks in, how spicy would it be?
We each took our first bite, and WOW! The spiciness hit us right away, but surprisingly, it was also incredibly flavorful. We couldn’t help but laugh at our reactions, alternating between excited cheers and dramatic reactions as the heat kicked in. OMG I was so wrong for thinking that because the packaging of the noodles looks so cute, it was not that spicy. But I really loved how the noodles had a perfect chewy texture. It was definitely SPICY, but we kept going back for more!
To cool down our taste buds, we snacked on the original seaweed. It was crispy, salty, and just what we needed after the bold flavor of the buldak. We compared notes on the seaweed’s flavors and how much we loved the crunch. It was the perfect pairing with the noodles!
While eating and around the table with friends, sharing laughter, and trying out new foods was the highlight of our week. I was so happy that despite our busy schedule, we still find time to go out of and enjoy moments like these.
Our Aki Mart date turned out to be everything we hope for. It was really a nice and unforgettable experience especially for me since it was my first time trying out the spicy buldak. Have you tried it or any cool Korean snacks? I’d love to hear your recommendations! Until next time, fellow Hivers.
