Hi there, Hive friends! Abby's back, teehee. ◠‿・
One Saturday morning, I was getting stressed out due to my unfinished loads of work. I'm the kind of person who procrastinates while at the same time gets stressed a lot whenever I have not finished my tasks yet. It's a total irony. I work fast to procrastinate.
While I was having that dilemma in me, my sister asked me to make sweet munchkins with her. And so we did!
I would say making desserts and eating at home is one of the things my sister and I do to bond. Hmmm, to tell you honestly, I think my older sister adores me a lot secretly; she always wants to do different things together, hahahaha Just kidding, but ain't totally kidding, haha.
Munchkins are these tiny circular chocolate-flavored desserts covered in desiccated coconut. The ingredients are:
• 1 pack Ace biscuits or Graham crackers
• 1 pack Marshmallows
• 1/2 cup of Condensed Milk
• Desiccated coconut
The first step in making the dessert is that you start by crushing the crackers until the crackers become powder-like. Yeah, totally crushed.
Next, add your ideal amount of condensed milk to the crushed crackers and mix all well until it has a sticky consistency.
Then, you start making tiny or big circles, and don't forget to put the mallows inside it. The smaller the circle, the more munchkins you get to have. As for this one, we were able to create a total of 66 pieces of munchkins.
The last step, you roll the little munchkin balls to the desiccated coconut. And you can either refrigerate it or not.
Refrigerating it makes it taste better; however, it loses the soft texture of the dessert, which is one of its best features because it melts inside your mouth. Putting it on the fridge makes it a bit rock solid, so yeah.
The ones we made are a little bit too sweet for us; nevertheless, it's still as good as how munchkins are supposed to be. The taste of nostalgia the dessert has since it's one of the desserts we enjoy buying at school as young kids. I can even remember how one piece of it is never enough. Back then, whenever I started buying munchkins at school, I ended up spending all of my money because it's somehow addicting, hahaha.
However, no matter how yummy the munchkins are, remember to eat in moderation. All in all, I have enjoyed the munchkins we made, and it helped me remove the stress out of my cells haha. After all, eating desserts helps your body produce the serotonin you needed to be happy. Uh-huh, I am not making that up, or am I? Hahahaha. It's just that desserts are the best at lifting our moods 😌.
This blog is a bit on the shorter side, but I hope anyone who reads it enjoys it. I hope this made you crave munchkins hahahah. Go ahead, grab some ingredients from your local grocery stores, and try making your own, and do not forget to enjoy it with your loved ones. You can also make it and hand it as a present to the people you dearly love this Valentine's. Show them your love 😉 💌.
