Good day everyone. I hope you're all doing well. Since today is the last day of Chinese new year, my boss invited her children to come over for a reunion dinner. We're again busy preparing for dinner.
It was early evening for tonight. I make chilli sauce in the morning, but unlike before I pound it, this time I just grind it using a grinder. This grinder cannot grind if the quantity is too little, that's why I need to pound sometimes. This time I did a lot to make sure I can grind it. Easy for me.
That's the chilli that I've grinded, I also cut some spring onion and chilli paddi.
I cut the vegetables while I'm making the soup to use for their steamboat later. I prepared Wong bok and lettuce. I cut a mountain of veggies.

After I finish making the soup I proceed to do other things that I need to do.
I cut some yam and deep fried it. Cut mushrooms in both shiitake and enoki. They like it in their steam boat. Prepared and cleaned few pieces of prawns.

They also bought some abalone, fish balls and tofu to be serve later. The meat I served last as it needs to be chilled. I cut some lime to squeeze in abalone, maybe it tastes better with a bit of sourness.

I set the table and put everything outside and they can start their steamboat dinner. I also soaked some bee hoon for them to eat.

When everything is ready and everyone is around they were so happy to start the dinner, but before anything else, they took out this dish that was mixed with different colorful ingredients. They called it the Chinese new year salad. It's their prosperity toss salad. There's shredded white and green radish, carrots, ginger slices, onion slices, crushed peanuts, pomelo, cucumber, capsicum and there's also fresh salmon and crispy chips. There's more than I don't know what they call it.
They gather to toss the salad. First They sang a Chinese song that I didn't understand before tossing. They would toss it higher each time while wishing each other good fortune. Every toss they say their wish and hopes for the year ahead. After tossing it, they gave each one a plate, including me and my friend. This is how it looks after they toss it.
It's not that bad, but Im not a fan of it. I just tasted it and ate my dinner, while they proceeded to their steamboat thing. They have a lot of fun and bonding while eating and talking about the happenings for the whole week. They finished late and I ended up clearing late, but the energy and positivity that surrounds them is so contagious that it was also passed to me.
I started to write my blog last Saturday, the last day of Chinese new year. But ended up publishing late due to a busy day.
That's all for today guys. See you around♥️.
