Making a Delicious Meal for the Family

in Foodies Bee Hive5 months ago

Greetings my dear people of the #foodiesbeehive community.
Happy Father's Day, I celebrate them all the days of my life.

This morning there was a transfer of responsibility to me. My aunty who often cooked for the family had to take the young baby to the hospital. I was left with no choice but to prepare food for the family and I also decided to share it with everyone here on Hive and #foodiesbeehive community particularly.
I thought of what to cook, and then I had to ask my little nephew what he would love to eat and he said his favorite meal, "rice and stew." So we decided to prepare a delicious Rice and stew for everyone.

One thing I love about my family is the fact that we don't joke with vegetables. My parents often make sure every one of our meals has some vegetables mixed with it. So I didn't only prepare the rice and stew alone, I also made a vegetable sauce. Since I didn't want any distractions, I took my little nephew to the sitting room and tuned a cartoon movie for him to keep himself busy while I did the cooking.
Alright, let's get down to the procedures for my preparation:

           Stew Preparation

Step 1:
I first started my preparation by washing my blender and the fresh tomatoes. Then I blended the tomatoes.

Step: 2
While the tomatoes were blending, I left it to select some fresh peppers and my onions. I got the onions peeled, washed them and chopped the onions.

After chopping my onions, I packed them into the blender and blended them with the tomatoes. I didn't blend the whole chopped onions though, I reserved some to be used for frying.

Step: 3
When the blender automatically turned off, I knew the items had been properly blended so I emptied them in my dish.

I then brought out my frying oil and added the quantity I needed into the pot, then added the leftover chopped onions.

I fried the onions for a while before adding the blended tomatoes and other condiments( crayfish, salt, seasons).
After stirring for a while, I then allowed it for some minutes before bringing it down.

I scooped out some quantity of the sauce which I would use for preparing my vegetable sauce.

             White Rice

After I brought down the pot of stew, I then proceeded to prepare the white rice. This is one of the simplest foods to cook, white rice. It's simply parboiling the rice, washing it and cooking it again till the desired texture and softness.
So how did I prepare mine? I just boiled my water and then added my measured amount of rice into the pot. After boiling for a while I then sieved the rice and washed it.

While washing, I placed another quantity of water on the hot plate. After I washed the rice, I poured it into the boiled water, left it for a while then added salt for taste. When I noticed it had softened to how I wanted it to be, I brought it down and sieved the unabsorbed water left in the pot.

That was all about the white rice preparation.

   Vegetable Sauce Preparation

This aspect of my meal preparation was very amazing as I had to visit our little garden in the backyard. We planted some pumpkins there, so I used my knife to cut some of the leaves and gathered as many leaves as I could.

Step 1:
I gathered those leaves into my washing dish. Took them to the sink and got them properly washed with some quantity of salt added to the washing water.

Step 2:
After washing, I gathered the leaves and manually chopped them with my chopping knife. Immediately after chopping, I placed my sauce on the hot plate.

Step 3:
The next step was to add the chopped vegetables into the boiling sauce.

I stirred it for a while and brought it down. Vegetables do not need much heat so they don't lose their nutrients(vitamins and minerals).

                       Final Step

The final part of my cooking was to boil the eggs. That is as easy as ABC. I just placed the three eggs in our boiling kettle containing water and then allowed it to boil on the hot plate. After I knew it was ready, I brought them out and peeled them.

The food is ready for "munching", hehe.
I scooped some quantity of the food for my nephew and me, then left the rest for my aunty whenever she returned.

Hi @captainman

Please read our community rules carefully, especially number four:

It's not just a photo posing in front of the kitchen, it's several photos, making your recipes, showing your face.

That's understood.
Thanks @foodiesbeehive for such corrections. I will have that in mind.
