This Friday night, I rewarded myself with a nice meal. It’s one of those dishes I don’t eat often, just to make it feel extra special. I’m talking about prawn and pork ribs noodles!
Most of the time, I enjoy eating noodles for the noodles themselves. I believe I’ve mentioned it in several of my other posts: handmade noodles alone are often enough to satisfy me. However, there are times when the noodles become secondary to the special toppings that come with them. That’s exactly why I love this dish, because of the generous and flavorful proteins in the bowl.
This combination really amps up the excitement I feel for a dish. There aren’t many food stalls that offer something like this, especially with such good quality.
So tonight, I went to the Geylang Bahru area to visit a restaurant that specializes in this dish. It's called Liang Zai Prawn Noodle.
I believe this restaurant started out as a humble hawker stall. Thanks to its success, they eventually opened their own dedicated space to expand their offerings. After all, hawker centers don’t allow you to sell drinks, so it was a smart move to open their own place and serve beverages as well.
I ordered the medium-sized serving, which costs SGD 8.50.
At first, I was thinking of getting the SGD 5.50 portion, but I was worried it might not be enough to satisfy me. So I went for the medium size to be safe, and I’m glad I did. When I received my bowl, I was delighted to see how generous it was. Plenty of toppings and a hearty amount of noodles too.
It’s no surprise that I finished the whole thing. It was just so delicious and satisfying that I kept munching until the very last drop. The soup had a slight spiciness that added a flavorful kick to the prawn broth. It was amazing, and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal.
Overall, this meal was a perfect way to wind down the week and treat myself to something special. The rich flavors and generous portions made it truly satisfying from start to finish. I’ll definitely be back for another bowl soon!
