Greetings, dear foodies!

Yesterday was our harvest day, and as always, it was a busy but fulfilling day for everyone in our garden. After hours of hard work, I wanted to prepare a special snack for our farmers and harvesters, a dish that’s both tasty and comforting: vegetables lumpia! There’s nothing like enjoying fresh food after a long day of working under the sun, and I’m happy to share this little treat with those who help make our garden thrive.

Due to my busy schedule yesterday, I couldn’t carefully separate the lumpia wrappers one by one, so some of them got a little torn, but that’s okay! The most important part is the freshness of our ingredients. Straight from our garden, which made the lumpia extra special.

Ingredients:

  • Sayote
  • Carrots
  • Pork (small pieces)
  • Lumpia Wrappers
  • Oil for frying
  • Cheese (optional, for extra flavor)

Procedure:

  1. First, wash and peel the sayote and carrots, then slice the, into small, thin strips. Make sure they are evenly cut so they cook perfectly.
  2. Saute the pork in a pan until lightly browned, then add the vegetables and cook for a few minutes. Season with a little salt and pepper. If you like, you can also add bit of cheese for a creamy touch!
  3. Place a spoonful of the filling on each lumpia wrapper. Carefully roll it up, folding in the sides. Don’t worry if some wrappers are torn, the filling still taste amazing!
  4. Heat oil in a pan and fry the lumpia until golden brown. The smell alone will make everyone excited to taste them!
  5. Serve hot and enjoy.

I was so happy to see everyone enjoying the lumpia. Many of our farmers came back for seconds, and it warmed my heart to see their smiles as they eat. Knowing that a simple snack made from our fresh vegetables could bring joy and energy to hardworking people makes all the effort worth it.

wow! Another vegetable lumpia recipe. Hmm this looks delicious and yes it's truly fulfilling when we also serve with free food our farmers and harvesters just like what we've always do during harvest time. Sometime my husband would bring them to a carenderia not a cozy restaurant but the food is full of satisfaction specially the balbacua serve there. Anyways, thank for sharing your recipe.
