Hello, Hivers. My name is @eijnuj06, and I'd like to share my experience when my girlfriend and I had a quick dinner date in Danao City and discovered a Hidden Restaurant called "The Rooftop- Food and Drinks."
This happened in the year 2022, and these pictures have been in my gallery for nearly three years. I had no idea about the Hive Platform, so they were kept and stored only in my gallery. Luckily, this year 2025, I was introduced to the Hive platform by @jedum , and I'm happy to see a platform that I can share my past happenings and experiences. And to make the most of these images, I'll share them with you here. If I only knew about Hive three years ago, I am confident that this one will be posted and shared with you on time.
I asked my girlfriend to accompany me to Danao City for shopping and walking to the mall. After shopping, we agreed to have dinner and she suggested fastfood restaurant such as Jollibee, Mcdo, Chowking, and Mang Inasal, but I insisted on finding another restaurant that is only located in Danao City. We were both looking for restaurants on Facebook until she came across The Rooftop-Food and Drinks. The restaurant was quite hidden and could not be seen from the highway due to its location, but we were able to locate it using Waze. Fortunately, it is close to the Gaisano Mall and is only a short walk away.
The Rooftop-Food and Drinks is located in Brgy. Poblacion, Rizal Street, Danao City, across from Dacuycuy Trading. Even though the building is on the side of the road, it is not visible from the road since it is located on the rooftop of an old building; if you are walking around the area, you will not notice that there is a restaurant inside.
When we arrived at the restaurant, we noticed we were the only customers, possibly due to the location not being visible to the public, but we proceeded to choose a table, and the staff handed me the menu, which included many different types of food, burgers, and drinks, and we also noticed that the prices of their products were affordable.
We ordered:
Special Sisig With Egg Platter
Pork Tonkatsu
Black American Style Burger and Fries
The clerk then listed our order and told us to wait 10-15 minutes, during which we enjoyed shooting selfies. When our order arrived, we began eating and thoroughly appreciated the food, particularly the Black Burger, which is so large that the patty and vegetables were perfectly matched by the Burger Sauce. I had the finest time in the restaurant conversing or talking with my partner; it felt like we owned the place because there were no other customers around, and the restaurant was playing sweet romantic music.
I've always wondered why there aren't more people eating at this restaurant; they serve excellent food and drinks, and the prices are reasonable.
I had a wonderful experience at the restaurant and would surely return, but when I searched the restaurant on Facebook again, I discovered that they had been closed since 2023 due to bankruptcy. Unfortunately, I found a post on they're facebook page selling their tools and equipments for a lower price. All I can say to the owner of this restaurant is thank you for opening it and giving it a try; perhaps your meal was underrated, but it was 5 stars in my opinion. We can say that all good things must come to an end, but always have faith in the Lord that great things will come.
