I can only imagine. My brother lives in the UK, so the visits vice versa is very limited and can get quite hectic with everyone wanting to visit friends and families. Precious moments thought.
I hope that the garden is coming along nicely! We are having some crazy rains on this side, so the garden is getting its fair share of water.

Yes… always hectic. To much to do in a very little time.
In 10 days we have to drive back to Ireland to sell the car. So on the way we stop in the UK and visit the rest of hubbies family.
We fly back and have some trains along the way. Will be fun.
The garden is doing as well as it can. Days are still cold and we had lots of rain too lately.
I discovered the first tiny cucumbers and some cherry tomatoes.
The beans are establishing too. Let’s see how it goes. Everything is very late here.
I am at 64 North… so it definitely will be a learning curve hahaha 🤣

Oh wow, the garden sounds lovely really. I am jealous; I want to grow some beans and cherry tomatoes and cucumbers! I need to expand my garden a bit for all of them.
And the long "road trip" sounds nice though, but I know travelling can be burdensome! I hope that the visits along the way will be fun though, as that helps a lot!

That is really awesome! Enjoy the vacation and travel. Our new semester starts now, so it is back to work (or reality) for us! But I am sure the garden will do good, as I find when you leave it alone it actually does better. Keep well!
It is not really a holiday sadly. Just getting the car back to Ireland to sell… as it has the steering wheel on the wrong side for the country we live in now Hahaha 🤣
So getting from A to B the quickest and cheapest way.
You are right, gardens do what gardens do best. Ours isn’t in a good place yet as the last couple of owners had neglected it. So still loads to do.

Oh I remember now! Well, try to make it a holiday in short, haha. But I know, the travelling gets to one if you just want to get it over with. Being in the long distance relationship, I usually looked forward to flying, but now I just want to get it over with and it has become a really crappy way of transportation. But it is the only option we have!
True, garden's are fickle and funny things sometimes; what you want to grow usually never really wants to grow in that spot. The less we interact the better, but this is also not always an option! You want nice produce and this requires interaction and interference with nature's plans! All a delicate balancing act.

Yep, you understand me fully. It is a chore. But like you say, sometimes the only option.
I did have a few nice break stops where we could see some great things. Like a lock with beautiful views of little boats going through, or a waterfall and a cute city center where we had lunch and suddenly saw so e awesome murals around.
It did break the driving up a bit. Now I am on the 14 hour long ferry ⛴️⛴️⛴️ then 2 days driving again and another ferry ⛴️. Soon we arrive… soon 😊
Yes, nature is for sure a balance act. I want to plant a food forest, with lots of perennials that will maintain itself… one day. Probably not at 64N hahaha 🤣

Oh yes, I am sure that is all of our gardeners' dreams, hey, planting a self-sustaining food forest! I would love one.
And even if one brings a couple of books on those long travelling periods, you get tired of reading so that does not even always help!
