Hey everyone, it's me, Rhea, again, and I'm back with another recipe I made for a special occasion called Filipino style spaghetti for my cousin’s birthday celebration.
It was the morning of June 10, 2025 and it is the day for my cousin’s birthday. My parents were already busy in the kitchen preparing all sorts of delicious food. I saw how busy they are so I offered to take charge of the spaghetti. It's a Filipino-style spaghetti and it's a dish I know already, so I figured I could help lighten their works.
I quickly gathered all the ingredients preparing everything out so it would be easy to grab while I cook.
Here's what I prepared need for this Filipino-style spaghetti:
minced garlic
minced onion
Cheese (for grating on top!)
Spaghetti pasta
spaghetti sauce (Filipino-style/ sweet-style)
Hotdogs
Ground pork
Oil
Now let’s cook it.
First things first I filled a big pot with water and put it over a medium heat. I need it so I can boil the pasta/noodles. Once the water was boiling I then carefully added the spaghetti noodles and stirred until they softened, and then I drained them in a strainer and gave a quick rinse with warm water. This technique keeps and helps them from sticking together and anyway nobody wants bad spaghetti.
Now let’s make the sauce. I put my pan on low heat, and after a minute, I then added a small amount of oil. I added the minced garlic and onion into the pan and I mixed it until it turns golden brown. Next I then added the ground pork and stirred it until it was softened and cooked.
Then it was time for the sliced hotdogs. I put them in and mix. Lastly I poured the spaghetti sauce stirred it together and that was it for the sauce.
To bring it all together I poured the delicious sauce over the cooked noodles and of course I topped it with a grated cheese and that’s what makes it extra delicious.
After the spaghetti was done, I wasn't finished. I know my younger cousins can be bit picky so I also made some fries for them giving them the choice of cheese or a barbecue flavor.
It was so much fun watching my cousins get excited about the food that’s on the table. LOL!
And that’s all for today's blog. Thanks for reading.
