My mom has been raving about this restaurant which recently had a new branch at SM City Cebu. Mind you, mom is picky when it come to eating in new restaurants as she considers two things: it's price and the worthiness of the food. She hasn't been to samgyupsal restaurants yet because for her, cooking (grilling) her meals is just the same as home cooked foods.
So when she mentioned about Barangay Seoul Restaurant and how she frequently eats there, whenever she can, I too got intrigued. I already ate in this restaurant before, only that it's in a different branch.
For just 150 pesos (less than 3 USD), diners could get 1 main dish with choices of pork, beef, or honey cured chicken, 1 side dish, 2 veggies, 1 bowl of soup, and a huge cup of rice.
For the food that is being served, the price is already very affordable. The only problem we have is the humid temperature inside the restaurant. I figured they didn't put the temperature at its maximum so Ben and I made sure to sit near the aircon.
The aesthetic of the the restaurant is also commendable. A mix of minimalist and modern Korean vibe. Their plates and tablewares feels as if we're in a school canteen in Korea I often seen on Netflix series.
My choice of food includes beef menudo, marble potatoes, steamed egg, kimchi, and seaweed soup. While Ben had sweet and sour chicken, cucumber kimchi, marble potatoes, pancit, and kimchi soup.
I must admit, for a brunch, this meal really does suffice.
Overall, the was delicious but it's not something I would eat every day, despite the affordable price.
