Have you ever tried eating a meal that suddenly transports you back to your childhood days? or perhaps to a certain point in your past? This could also be applicable to other human senses such as smelling a familiar perfume.
I certainly was transported back to my childhood when we were making this creamy mango ice candy. I remember back in the days, our freezer was loaded with lots of ice candy in two different flavors- avocado and mango. During the heat of summer in our tropical country, cold beverages and desserts are always in demand.
A few days ago, a fruit vendor was selling lots of mangoes at a bargain so we bought almost 15kilos of it. Our family loves mango, despite the sugar spike after eating it.
Since it was quite a lot, we decided to make different desserts out of it like mango float, mango sago, and of course, mango ice candy.
Ingredients for mango ice candy:
. 5 cans of 360ml Evaporated milk
. 2 cans of 390 grams Condensed milk
. 3 cups of drinking water
. 5 pieces Smashed Mango (fruit)
. 2 by 10 ice candy plastic
These ingredients can produce 100-120 pcs of ice candy. Back in the days, i remember buying ice candy from our neighbor but i still prefer making our own because the flavor of store bought ice candy is quite diluted due to it being commercialized.
Sometimes, we mixed two ice candy flavors, place it in a bowl, and add some dried prunes. I'm drooling right now 😋
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
Sending some love and light
