Hey there, foodies of hive! Yesterday, I finally cooked the steak I bought online.
After buying dried rosemary and thyme, I proceed to watching in depth videos on how to properly cook steak.
I ordered wagyu beef cubes, rib eye steak, and kilcoy rib eye. But for my first steak night, I only cooked the Wagyu beef since it's the most appetizing in my opinion.
Other ingredients used includes:
-Onion
-Garlic
-extra virgin olive oil
-salt & pepper
Pat dried with tissue paper and sprinkled with salt and pepper, these Wagyu beef are good to go.
Although I know that steak is best cooked medium rare, my family isn't fond of raw meat so we opted the well done version of the steak.
To add some carbs for the steak, we also cooked carbonara pasta with minced bacon. I chose the fettuccini pasta to add Italian to our themed dinner. Yesterday was my brother's birthday so we opted to add a pasta as a Chinese tradition for birthdays. Serving "something long" is believed to give long life to the birthday celebrant.
Ingredients:
-fettuccini pasta
-carbonara sauce
-bacon
-melted cheese
The verdict
Admittedly, I'm not a steak lover. If I recalled correctly, I've only eaten steak thrice in my entire existence. So I'm not a steak expert. But I do appreciate delicious meat and steaks.
The Wagyu beef was soooo tender that one wouldn't believe it to be meat. It's my first time eating Wagyu so I can't compare it to other Wagyu beef nor can I confirm that my way of cooking the meat is accurate. But for the Wagyu beef itself, I didn't find it worth the price. I would probably enjoy an eat all you can samgyupsal with the same price, or ever cheaper that the Wagyu beef, than reordering the meat.
So for my rating, i give this 7/10.
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
Sending some love and light
With love, Jane
