I decided to wake up early to catch a hearty omurice at THIS shop again.
It was the same place where I had my first okonomiyaki in Japan. Though the omurice can be served any time of the day, I wanted to eat it in the morning. I think it would taste better than the evening, haha. 😁✨
I saw grandma making a meal for one customer. Of course, I greeted her good morning first before seating. I can tell on her face that she was happy to see us again (hopefully) haha. 😆
She said that young people do not come here often as she served slower than normal. Even though that was the case, I wanted to try her cooking.
It took a while but I happily waited for the meal while I looked around the tiny shop. Good thing there was a television as background music for less awkwardness. It was just the sizzle and the TV in the background… I was too shy to start a conversation as I might say something inappropriate. Served big and hot! A squirt of tomato ketchup and a sprinkle of parsley made the dish more presentable. I scoop the first bite and oh la la~☺️ I can taste the umami-ness dancing in my mouth. It felt a relief like literally I sighed because it was delicious. The waiting game made me more appreciative. I like the crispy edges of the egg which gave a texture contrast to the fluffiness of the egg. It has a tangy taste from the tomato ketchup mixed with the rice. It has the right balance of sweetness and tanginess. This portion can be divided into two, but I ate it all! For the second dish, I ordered a pork cutlet with egg. It was similar to the first time I visited this shop. The difference was this had an unbranded cutlet, a different side dish, and topped with a sunny side up egg. 😊 The meat was tender and juicy paired with stingy shredded cabbage dressed in sesame sauce. It's got pumpkin salad and one that up to this day is a mystery to me, hehe. It tasted like a root crop too, but I was not too sure what it was. 👌🏻 😊🍳✨ I was super filled with the two dishes and was planning to buy some sweets near the train station. Grandma noticed that I was about to pay and she gave me a little pouch. I thought it was a wet tissue to clean myself up. I opened it carefully and smelled something sweet. Maybe she thought of me as a teenager, haha.😆 The biscuits had different flavors. Sweet, savory, and one with a sprinkle of seaweed. I paid around 2000 Yen for the whole order. Not bad! It was delicious and a fun experience. Shop name and location: 💖 NFT Showroom: Chibis on Hive http://nftshowroom.com/jijisaurart 🍭 That is it for this blog. I will see you at the next one!
Ahhh~ Here we go!
I wanted to eat more since I was already in the shop.
Oh, my, it was a pack of little biscuits.
Whatever the case, she was kind enough to give me something for free! 💖
