Hello food lovers! How are you today? What was your lunch by the way? Today we have pork liempo. Yesterday was a very busy day going to the department centers so today I think I deserve to have a very tasty lunch.
For this recipe the only ingredient is
Pork belly half kilo
Salt one teaspoon
For the sauce,
Soy sauce 1 cup
Vinegar 1/2 cup
Onion 1 piece
Fresh chili (as many as you can)

Our neighbor had delivered us fresh pork bellies and we decided to grill it because my husband loves pork especially grilled one.

After washing it thoroughly, my husband leave it on s strainer to dry and I go to the nearest store to buy charcoal. The grilling screen is kind of rusty and I think it was unused for the mean time. I have t O put it first on the burning charcoal then I have to brush it. Then put it back and brush it again with oil and it's ready to grill.

I also take charge myself to help fan the grill so it's easy to cook and the charcoal kept alive. I cover my face here. It's very hot!

We used a traditional fan here! This is way too big and the main purpose for this is for grilling. His brother said he did barbeque last month.

Then I put fresh okra too. I love vegetables so much and also to equalize the fat intake it's better to have vegetables also in the dish.

Some had already cooked and my husband started to chop each of it. The smell is very tempting. It's very beautiful and I'm very excited to taste it because I'm sure it's really very delicious.

These are the strips of the grilled pork Liempo. It's beautifully cut. The taste? It's very expensive taste. It's just only salt to taste but definitely very delicious. This is best because the meat is very fresh.

And for the sauce. This is the general sauce for a Liempo. A cup of soy sauce, half a cup of vinegar, slices of onion and more chili. We love spicy foods and we put so much chili on the sauce but of course we also prepared not spicy sauce for the kids.

I had so much rice for this lunch. I savored every piece of it because when I can go back to our regular place we can seldom eat pork. In our hometown pork is only 300 to 350 pesos per kilo but in our workplace pork is 480-520 per kilo depends on the supply. I understand because it's an island and it's very strict in terms of raising pigs.
Well that's all for today! I hope you like my recipe today!

That liempo looks so good 🤤🔥 Perfect combo with okra

Yes it is.. You like Liempo too.

The liempo looks crispy. It's really perfect to combine it with grilled veggies, too.

That's right. To have a balance food. Or to look healthier.

I love that you paired it with okra to balance out the flavors. I had pork bbq earlier, but now I’m craving liempo after seeing your post 🤤

!PIZZA

Haha by just looking at the picture again, I'm craving one more time hahaha

Your lunch looks like a feast! I’m jealous of that fresh pork belly. 😍 How long did you grill it to get that perfect texture?"

There's a lot of charcoal, it only spends 15 minutes on the grill because we tried to use pamaypay. Besides it's very fresh like it was killed that morning like 6 am and delivered to us by 9 am.

The sauce makes it more flavorful and okra vegetable was a perfect combo also for this grilled pork meat.
