Kamote Fries(Sweet Potato Fries)

in Foodies Bee Hiveyesterday

Hello everyone, this is @lorene08 again in another cooking serye blog👩🏻‍🍳🤙🏻

Well, most likely this is not new to you, but perhaps for some here it will be. We like cooking fries from potatoes, right? But others use other vegetables such as banana (not the ripe one hehe) and also sweet potato.

This is my first time making this sweet potato fries actually , I just saw it on TikTok and Facebook. Now I will be sharing it here in Hive as well.

What we need in preparing this are, of course, the sweet potatoes, mayonnaise, ketchup, and powdered cheese.

FIRST STEP
Wash the sweet potatoes first. Of course, we don't want to eat it with the skin and dirt, right? So when I wash the sweet potatoes, you also have to scrub them by hand so that the dirt will be removed, then peel them. Honestly, this was the most difficult part in preparing sweet potato because I don't have any peelers at home. I used a knife, and it's so hard and scary at the same time because you'll hurt your fingers if you're not careful.

Cut the peeled sweet potatoes into vertical lines, similar to how one cuts potato fries (please do not judge how I cut it guys, the sweet potato is actually hard, that is why I am also having a difficult time cutting it into a perfect one HAHAHAHA).

SECOND STEP
Now we should fry it in a pan. If you prefer it to be cooked quickly, you can increase the heat of your stove, but for me, because I don't want it to burn, I just used medium heat. We should deep-fry it, so it should have a lot of oil, but unlike banana fries, sweet potato doesn't consume a lot of oil since it doesn't absorb much of it.

Once yellowish or brownish, you can transfer it to a plate, then repeat the process again and again. And you can fry it again if you want it to be very crispy once you eat it.

THID STEP (the preparation of sauce)
Now, this is where we use the rest of the ingredients , the mayonnaise, ketchup, and the powdered cheese. I'm sure all of you know how to do this one, right? Nevertheless, I'll still include it here hehehehe.

Place the mayonnaise first, then the ketchup (I forgot the amount I used for both lol 😆) then the powdered cheese (this is optional by the way hehe, you can add other ingredients too), then mix. Once you're satisfied and feel that the taste is well-balanced, then it's ready.

And that's how you do the sweet potato fries and the sauce!! Thank you for reading everyone!! 👩🏻‍🍳🤍

Do you have any recommendations that are easy to make at home and budget-friendly? 😊

I want to eat it, I bet that's delicious.

Yes, it's much tastier with a sauce, too🥰

Ohh, and here I thought you'll be making it like how fried was made but cook it like a Camote Cue which is sweet. Haha. I did this kind of version before, cutting it into strip like a fries and then cook it with sugar. But this version looks good too. Sweet potato is naturally sweet though. Wish I could try that right now 🤤🤤✨

Camote cue is yummy too! That’s one of my favorite kinds of camote snacks 🥰
