A chocolate chip cookie is supposed to be an easy bake but I failed 20 times before I can finally make this cookie 🍪
A cookie is not a rocket science to make but a chocolate chip cookie especially the american ones is pretty challenging to bake. If you grew up watching Sesame Street, you have this mental image that a cookie should be perfectly round and crispy. Or these days you have these chewy cookies that have an ungodly amount of sugar in them. So, when your cookies don’t look like them you think you failed. The thing is, there are many factors that affect your cookie starting from the flour, the butter, and even the temperature of the oven. Eitherway, if you follow the common recipe out there, your cookie will still taste great except the shape won’t be the same as what you have in your mind.
The thing is, to make this american styled cookie, you have to be precise with the measurement. You can not just do it without a scale and hoping things would magically work. In my case, when I didn’t use the scale, it failed.
Without further adieu, this was the ingredients to make this Chocolate Chip Cookies inspired by The Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe Ever

Ingredients
60g all-purpose flour
50gr white sugar
40g brown sugar
30g unsalted butter/Margarine(melted)
1 large eggs
½ tbsp of vanilla
2 pinch of baking soda
A pinch of salt
Generous amount of chocolate chip cookies and chopped chocolate.
How To's
- Mix all the wet ingredients (30g unsalted butter/Margarine(melted) , egg, and white sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract.
- Add all the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
- Combine until everything is properly mixed but don’t overmix them.
- Add chocolate chip cookie and chopped chocolate
- Rest in the fridge for 30 minutes
- Preheat your oven until 200C
- Use an ice cream scoop and place them in the baking tray
- Bake for 20 minutes in 180 C temp for a gas oven.
- Chill, serve and enjoy with your favorite milk or tea.

It's supposed to be easy, right? But if you don’t get the measurement correctly, it’s easy to fail. Even if you skip the brown sugar, it won’t taste as how you would normally taste from a store bought chocolate chip cookie.
In this recipe,I don’t actually recommend margarine because they won’t have the same depth of flavor as if it were using butter, but if you want to make it more economical and affordable, that’s definitely something you can do.
One of the things that you should also do if you want that perfect round look unlike mine is not to overmix all the ingredients. Just make sure that you’re incorporating everything until it’s mixed. Then leave it as is.
When it comes to a chocolate chip cookie, it’s all about the technique and partly the ingredients. So make sure that you properly scale them and if you’re unsure watch more tutorials and see the difference in textures, shapes and even ingredients use and how it would affect your cookie.
With the recipe above, you would get a soft cookie with the outer one that’s crispy. The brown sugar adds depth to the flavor. So, if you have time to bake, try this cookie recipe 😸
