A bread phase!

Have you ever had that bread phase? Once you start, It’s like you can’t stop baking them. Long story short, you’ll find yourself living in a castle made of bread. It’s something I’ve been doing lately with my time while trying to find my way back to my regular routine.

Who would have thought there’s a whole science behind bread making? I mean, I clearly didn’t expect that even baking one would be quite a scientific experiment.

For an impatient person, I can’t wait more than 24 hours or a week just to eat a piece of bread. So, I was trying to find recipe that doesn’t require hours of hours just to finally eat a bread.

Somehow, after scrolling through recipes, I found one guy talking about easy rustic bread recipe. At first, I couldn’t really believe that it all takes just less than 24 hours.

I mean, usually we must wait for the yeast to ferment typically overnight, for the dough to proof and then another couple of minutes before we can even shape them. If you think about it, bread may look like a simple food but there’s a lot of waiting and patience added into it.

One more loaf... Rustic Bread

The recipe that I was using to make that rustic bread is just flour, instant yeast, a pinch of salt and warm water. There was nothing else added into the main ingredients. Just as you see in the video below.

Finishing series of your choice

The only thing that will train your patience is certainly the waiting time. When you think about it, an hour or two is like watching 2 episodes of your preferred Netflix series. So, just play that while you’re waiting for the yeast to develop.

Once it’s done, you need to wait another 15 minutes, think about listening to some podcast or do a little workout for that Netflix break . It will be no time before your bread is ready to bake.

If you have a gas oven like mine, that will take another episode of Netflix series. So, have that play in the background or if you have something else to do, you can play anno1800 and an hour is just like a fleeting moment.

Somehow after baking about an hour, you will still have to wait an hour before you can even slice them. That’s again, another hour of Netflix series or some gaming session.

Finally… when the bread is ready, somehow, you’re not that hungry anymore but feeling proud that you’re ready to built a bread castle.

After successfully making that first bread, there’s always that itch to make more, don’t you ever feel that way too? I ended up making more after my first successful try. They're best for avocado toast and paired with scrambled eggs.

Now we have way too many bread that my cats are sick of it too. They don’t ask for crumbs anymore. They just quietly leave me alone especially once I open the food cover cause they know, it’ll be bread again. But thanks to that baking bread, I finished some Netflix series I was unable to. Have you ever had this terrible bread making phase?

Whoa you did it! Seems easy to make it! But yeah I am searching for gluten free bread
Slice bread with scrambled egg also avocado will just perfect, but then to find good avocado also is not easy anyway

There are a lot of recipe out there for gluten free bread but not sure about waiting time. The only thing I hate about baking is waiting for yeast to develop and the dough proofing. You should try baking gluten free stuff like foccacia or banana one. I used oatmeal flour before and it turned out pretty great 😊

Yeah for banana I often made it just with oatmeal and the result really great! 😊

As a person who trapped in the culture of no rice no eat, that wait time to bake the bread is really not my type, although I really want to do it in the future, but I don't really think that the bread could make me full.
hahaha
the bread looks nice Cem, you are a certified baker now.

🤣 Even my mom thinks I am crazy cause indonesian knows this as "hard" bread which is something a little uncommon. But they go so well with avocado toast and soups and I am saving a couple of bucks without having to go cafe to eat this kind of bread 😂
