I'm a fan of soups, but my favorite will always be the meat soup. In my family, we have a beautiful tradition since I was a child: every Sunday, my mother would prepare soup, but with different flavors. Wow! It was a real treat. However, since I started a strict diet, I almost don't eat soups, since I can't eat some seasonings because of my health problem.

However, I always try to enjoy at least one soup a week. We have days at my in-laws' house for care reasons for one of them, due to his health. On Mother's Day, my husband said to me, "Love, on Monday we are going downtown to buy your gift so we can have lunch on the street." He immediately asked me if I wanted some beef soup. My friends, this offer is never despised, ha ha ha!

We left around 10:45 in the morning to run our errands. Between one thing and another, time flew by like a flash of lightning, and my stomach was already telling me I was hungry, so I thought it was time for lunch. My husband invited me to a mall that has a food fair, where there is a wide variety of options. So we headed there.

When we arrived, we got a surprise: there was no light and the plant was not working. We spent almost an hour waiting, but the electricity was not coming back on. I told my husband that I was starving, and he suggested going to Calle Santa Rosa, to "Los Hijos de Wasi". This is a very popular restaurant in my town where we go frequently, because the seasoning here is wonderful. Also, here they prepare the best pork arepas in town.

When I arrived, the owner immediately told me that he only had chicken soup and dry dishes. I laughed so much, since he knows my tastes. So I told him that today I would have chicken, because my body was asking for soup. I confess that I had never tasted the chicken soups of this place. They brought it to me right away, accompanied with a grilled arepita and a cambur. This is infallible to complete our soups in the city.

When the soup arrived, I took a sip and I can tell you that it was really delicious, with a unique and indescribable flavor. I talked to the owner of the store to find out how they prepared this delicacy and if they added additives such as seasonings. He told me that it was totally natural, just with lots of seasoning, jojoto, chicken and lots of vegetables. When I started to investigate, I found a chicken thigh; among its vegetables there was ocumo chino (as we say here in Venezuela), celery criollo (which is yellow) and sweet potato. This vegetable is fried and is extremely delicious.

I added my arepa asada to the soup, I love this combination! It reminds me of the soups back home. I enjoyed every sip and I really give this place always a 10 out of 10. If you are in Venezuela, in Sucre state, I invite you to "Los Hijos de Wasi", the best in town. Dear friends, I really enjoyed this invitation, as it is my favorite dish. Soy fanática de las sopas, pero mi favorita siempre será la de carnes. En mi familia, tenemos una hermosa tradición desde que era niña: cada domingo, mi madre preparaba sopa, pero con sabores diferentes. ¡Guaooo! Era una verdadera delicia. Sin embargo, desde que comencé una dieta estricta, casi no consumo sopas, ya que no puedo comer algunos aliños por mi problema de salud.

Sin embargo, siempre trato de disfrutar al menos una sopa a la semana. Tenemos días en casa de mis suegros por motivos de cuidado de uno de ellos, debido a su salud. El Día de las Madres, mi esposo me dijo: "Amor, el lunes vamos al centro de la ciudad para comprar tu regalo y así almorzamos en la calle." Inmediatamente me preguntó si quería una sopita de carne. Mis amigos, esta oferta nunca se desprecia, ¡ja, ja, ja!

Salimos alrededor de las 10:45 de la mañana para hacer nuestras diligencias. Entre una cosa y otra, el tiempo voló como un rayo fugaz, y mi estómago ya me estaba avisando que tenía hambre, así que pensé que era hora de almorzar. Mi esposo me invitó a un centro comercial que cuenta con una feria de comidas, donde hay una gran variedad de opciones. Así que nos dirigimos hacia ese lugar.

Al llegar, nos llevamos una sorpresa: no había luz y la planta no estaba funcionando. Pasamos casi una hora esperando, pero la electricidad no regresaba. Le dije a mi esposo que moría de hambre, y él me propuso ir a la Calle Santa Rosa, a "Los Hijos de Wasi". Este es un restaurante muy popular en mi localidad al que vamos con frecuencia, ya que la sazón de este lugar es maravillosa. Además, aquí preparan las mejores arepas de cochino de la ciudad.

Al llegar, el dueño me dijo de inmediato que solo tenía sopa de pollo y platillos secos. Me causó tanta risa, ya que él conoce mis gustos. Así que le respondí que hoy tocaría pollo, porque mi cuerpo me pedía una sopa. Confieso que jamás había probado las sopas de pollo de este lugar. Me la trajeron enseguida, acompañada con una arepita asada y un cambur. Esto es infalible para completar nuestras sopas en la ciudad.

Cuando llegó la sopa, tomé un sorbo y les puedo decir que estaba realmente deliciosa, con un sabor único e indescriptible. Hablé con el dueño del negocio para saber cómo preparaban esta delicia y si le agregaban aditivos como condimentos. Me dijo que era totalmente natural, solo con mucho aliño, jojoto, pollo y muchas verduras. Al empezar a investigar, encontré un muslo de pollo; entre sus verduras había ocumo chino (como decimos aquí en Venezuela), apio criollo (que es amarillo) y batata. Este vegetal se fríe y es sumamente delicioso.

Agregué mi arepa asada a la sopa, ¡amo esta combinación! Me recuerda a las sopas de mi hogar. Fui disfrutando de cada sorbo y realmente le doy a este lugar siempre un 10 de 10.
