First Time Making Cat Tongue Cookies

Cat's Tongue Cookies

Cat's tongue cookies are a very popular cookie in Indonesia, this cookie is one of the jar fillings during Eid. The process of making it requires special effort because the slightest mistake can make us fail. Cat tongue cake is a cake made from fresh egg whites, well make sure to use egg whites that are freshly opened from the shell without being stored in the refrigerator. This is very influential on the quality of cookies that you will process later.

As someone who has just tried this recipe, of course I have to look for a lot of information related to this recipe. Usually I get my recipes from the internet but it's different with this cookie recipe I got directly from a pastry craftsman who lives near my house. He is very experienced in making these cookies. So the procedure for making and the process was explained in detail to me. It's great to have someone as good as her and I managed to make this cake at my house this time.

Required Ingredients

200 grams egg white
300 grams butter and margarine
175 grams of powdered sugar
¼ teaspoon vanilla powder
40 grams cornstarch
40 grams milk powder
250 gram wheat flour (roasted)

Making Procedure

Mix margarine and buuter with sifted powdered sugar so as not to grind then add vanilla.

Then mizer on low speed until evenly mixed and then add egg whites then mixer until the color changes to a slightly pale color.

Now all dry ingredients, flour, milk powder and cornstarch are stirred in one container. Then added to the dough that was being mixed earlier.

Mix until well blended and the dough is ready to be shaped, put it in a paper triangle.

Then cut the tip of the paper and print it on a buttered baking sheet. Print lengthwise with a small size only.

Bake in the oven for 35 minutes with top and bottom heat. Make sure the temperature is 180 degrees Celsius or adjust to your own oven. Actually, this cake has a special pan but since I don't have one, I made it manually directly into a regular pan.

Look at the results of my cat tongue cookies already very beautiful not for the first try. Now why this cake is said to be a cat's tongue cake, in my opinion because the shape is very similar to the shape of an elongated and oval tongue. So it is said to be the cat's tongue.
