Making Crispy Banana Blossom Coated with Ready-to-Use Breading Mix, Eat It as a Snack or Paired with Rice - It's Perfect for Both

Facebook is really a good place to look for recipes too, you know how people share their cooking vlogs on Facebook. I love watching those, even the oldies are so addicted to mukbang videos that also show their cooking. Sometimes, we get ideas on FB on what to cook that we can prepare for our lunch, we rarely do this though, haha. (≧▽≦)

Yesterday morning, Mommy D went to Bulbugan, to their house. She went there to visit her sister, Aunt Velyn. Mommy F said that Mommy D will dye her sister's hair. That's also like their bonding moments. I'm surely sure they also had lots of chismisan too as part of that bonding moments. (≧▽≦)

So Mommy travel back home with lots of stuffs in her hands. She even brought Aloe Vera fresh from their own garden. Aunt Velyn also harvested banana blossom and Mommy D brought some at home. Hearing it, i got excited because I already miss that sour soup recipe using Banana Blossom. It's been ages since we last had them.

So this morning, Mommy D peeled the banana blossom, cut them into different sizes then cook half of it into a soupy dish while half of it was fried. She said, she'll try that what she watch in facebook. Haha. I saw it too last month I think but I already forgot how to make it. ┐( ̄ヘ ̄)┌

But still, we tried. And using the ready made breading mix that Mommy D bought in a store. I noticed the caption there "made with carrot and malunggay." They made this more healthier then. But still, with the amount of oil we had to use, not sure if this can still be considered healthy, ╮(^▽^)╭

So it's cooking time! First things first, we coated the the banana blossoms using the breading mix. We didn't use any other things, just that. The breading mix is already seasoned so all we have to do is put them in a bowl, and put the wet banana blossoms in that bowl. Some use egg and flour to make wet mixture for it but we skip that part. Haha

So next is frying it, well, doing that is easier. Everyone can do this much. You just have to ready your cooking oil and make sure that it is hot before you start frying it. By the way these are the banana blossoms and it's flowers. We eat that too yeah. Have you tried already it?

Once they turn brown, use a strainer to remove all the excess oil in it. Make sure not to burn them or it will taste bitter. Seriously, when I taste test it, the crispiness is just WHOA! I love how it turns out. And the breading mix taste good too, it'll be more awesome if there's ground pepper in it to give it a little kick of spiciness. Anyways, this is seriously a good snack or kutkutin. But of course, we also pair it with steamed white rice.

Together with the Sinaing sa Asin na Puso ng Saging! Mommy D put vinegar on it, I enjoy sipping it's soup. The banana blossom is tender too, we cook it for like 40 minutes I think.

So yeah, with just whole banana blossom, breading mix, and cooking oil, we're able to make this crispy banana blossom ♪ \(^ω^\ ) easy no?
