Cottage cheese stuffed meatloaf

Adding cheese to meat loaf, specifically cottage cheese is something I find tasty. Some people find this really weird, but I like it. And it can make for a hearty meat loaf. Will take me a week or so to eat it all. I have made it a few times so figure I should share how I make it.

First I take three pounds of ground beef and 0.75 pounds of cottage cheese and a mix of spices and set them up.

I form a pocket for the cottage cheese to go. And keep enough ground beef off to the side to top it once the cottage cheese is inside.

With all the spices mixed into the ground beef, and the two parts ready to go I will add the cottage cheese shortly.

Ah perfect, maybe a bit too much. We will know when we start baking it if its too much.. it will start to ooze out.

Top view, all ready to be closed up.

There we go, with some kneeding I got it all covered and pinched it the best I could around the edges.

You would never know its filled with cottage cheese.. lol

Time to go in the oven. I cook it at 350F for about 45 minutes.

Eventually its time to flip it.

We can see it starting to ooze out, but not too much.

Once flipped I cook it again for another 15 minutes or so. And its all ready to go.

Would you eat it?

How are you, dear friend @solominer? Good morning.

I love this recipe. It looks simple and delicious. It would definitely be a meal on my table, paired with a portion of French fries or some delicious mashed potatoes.

I appreciate you sharing this recipe.

Have a great day.

I would definitely try this but I'm curious what spices you add in and if you add them to the meat or the cheese?

It looks like it could benefit from some sort of glaze on top but I don't know what I would actually use to glaze it so it's kind of useless for me to say that lol.

I just had to be honest, when I saw cheese and meat I was so confused, I really have to try this someday

Yeah, I would definitely try it. I might throw it on the grill to smoke it though! I used to use cottage cheese on my tacos back in the day. It fulfilled the sour cream and cheese combination with a single ingredient!

I recently read an article about meat and fish cakes with soft cheese and decided to try this miracle :)

Wow, I never tried cottage cheese with ground beef. I would try it, but not sure I will like it :)

Minced meat, cottage cheese and spices... The combination of these seems surprising at first, but the look is worth trying.
