It was about time I started using some of the powdered eggs that I had ordered when eggs were going out of sight here in the USA. They have been sitting on the pantry shelf all this time, now since eggs are expensive again, I decided to break open the bag and start using them.

The weather has been cold and raining, so I thought I would stock the freezer with some of my husband's favorites.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect but I couldn't let them stay on the shelf forever. The color and consistency were a bit different, but they smelt like eggs.

I mixed the powder with half water and half milk, then sprinkled some cinnamon into the mix. I made an entire loaf of bread into French toast.

Of course, he was on standby to be the official taste-tester. ;-)

Once all the French toast was cooling on the rack, I put together his favorite "Breakfast Casserole" with another batch of egg powder.

Lastly, I made some scrambled eggs to use with the Egg Fried Rice I was making for dinner to accompany the Teriyaki Salmon.

I especially liked them scrambled with the rice. All-in-all, we both agreed that the powdered eggs were very similar to using fresh. It is nice to have them on the pantry shelf and it will save us some money going forward.

The weather is to be warmer today with part-sun, so I will take advantage and do some more gardening.

I have some powdered eggs I got a while back, too! They work especially well in baking or French toast and such, you wouldn't know that you had used powdered.

I honestly haven't heard of powdered eggs. There's also increase in price of eggs these days here. Love French toast too; finally, powdered egg was put into good use. Rice with scrambled egg and salmon looks tasty. Fried rice with eggs, wow, they curdle like fresh eggs too. I guess more people will keep powdered eggs in their pantry due to price increase of fresh eggs.

The powdered eggs work wonderfully, and I am glad I have them to use with the high price of eggs.

That’s very handy! Powdered eggs. The French toasts look yummy and crunchy. Scrambled egg is always my favourite too.

Yes, the powdered eggs worked out well for me, I was surprised at how good they were.

👌

I've never used powdered eggs, but I'm happy to know it's similar to the fresh egg. Fortunately here the eggs are not so expensive (around 1,50 euro for 6 eggs in the supermarket, less if we buy them directly by the farmer), but it's always good to have an alternative if their price will grow up. ❤️

You are fortunate to have low prices for eggs. Here they are very high right now. I was pleased at how well they worked in the different recipes.

I heard of the recent hike in egg prices in America, but not egg powder before. Does it have any preservatives in it? I wonder how they make it.

No preservatives, just dehydrated eggs. They worked so well too to my surprise.

Damn, I haven't heard of powdered eggs before! It's nice to hear they taste the same.

Yes, they were not bad at all and I was happy to have them with the egg prices so high right now.

The outcome look super nice

Thank you, the egg powder was very good indeed.

I've never used powdered eggs, but good to know it's a solution.

On the other hand, it's unbelievable what's happening in the US regarding eggs.

Exactly! The high price of eggs is out of control. I'm glad I remembered having them for long term storage. Now, I can save money using them.
