There is a first time for everything, and this week I made Tomato Soup from homegrown tomatoes. I got inspiration from Pam over @goldenoakfarm and used her recipe below.

I still have a lot of tomatoes ripening every day on the counter and I have enough sauce, diced, and whole for the pantry. I saw her recipe and just had to make it for dinner along with Bacon, Lettuce, and Tomato sandwiches. It was absolutely delicious, by the way.

I made enough to be able to pressure can 6-pint jars. All that is left to do is add an equal amount of cream to the tomato base when I serve it. I will definitely be adding this to my yearly canning routine.

Can you imagine how delicious this #tomato soup is going to be on a cold winter's day? I can!

Tomato soup and toasted cheese sandwiches! But your BLT’s sure sounded good!

Putting them into pint jars would work for you 2. But there’s always been just me eating it as my husband hated “soup”. So I freeze it in pints and can thaw out half in a pan and put the frozen back in the freezer.

We both loved your tomato soup, and we will certainly enjoy it next time with toasted cheese too. Too bad your husband hated soup so much, it is favorite wintertime meal in this house, any soup will do!

Nice Job. Do you use manure for tasty tomatoes?

Hahaha, Mike. Manure goes on everything, lol.

Thought you may have used store bought stuff/
