Hello everyone! I hope you're all doing well. It's me krishy again.
This is how I cooked calderetang manok/ Chicken Caldereta.
We already bought the ingredients.
Chicken, carrots, potatoes, capsicum, onion, garlic and caldereta mix for easier cooking. This is the first time we're gonna use a caldereta mix because most of the time we use liver spread and tomato paste. I cleaned and cut the ingredients that I needed. This is very easy to cook.
Turn on the stove or induction cooker. We use induction cooker, because why not? Kidding aside, we think this is cheaper than using gas/gasoline for cooking because the price of the gas here in the Philippines still not turning back to normal. Before pandemic it's only Php42-45 per liter then after pandemic it's Php60-75 per liter. Same with the gasul, before it's Php600-700 now it's Php 1,000-1,200. Going back, I heated the pan first, and when the pan is already hot you can put in canola oil (you can use any cooking oil that is available at your home.
When the oil is already hot, I put the carrots and potatoes in and wait until became golden brown and then set aside.
Next I put the chicken I need to fry it first, wait until it is golden brown, and then I put the onion and garlic, sauteed for 1-2 minutes. And you can put the caldereta mix and put 200-400ml water. Simmer for 5-10 minutes the put the fried carrots and potatoes back to the pan. Wait for 5 minutes. Next is the capsicum then you can turn off the induction cooker or your stove.
While waiting I checked my son outside. In my surprised I saw him, he was playing with some duck outside he wanted to catch them but he can't because the duck walk fast. I called him to go inside because I'm done cooking and he need to eat and after he needs to take a bath.
Thank you so much for reading my blog.
Have a nice day.
