Do you love carbonara as much as I and my friends do? Well, let me share how we make carbonara in the simplest way! No need for bacon, ham, parsley, or anything expensive just to make your carbonara taste and look good.
For our carbonara we only used these ingredients:
- 450 g Pasta,
- 100 g Mushroom,
- 1 Whole Yellow Onion,
- 6 Cloves of Garlic,
- 90 g Cheese,
- Solo or budget size Spicy and original Century Tuna,
- 1 tbsp Pepper,
- 2 tsp Salt
- 2 tsp Sugar,
- 2 tbsp Oil,
- 250 ml All-purpose cream and
- 360 ml Evaporated Milk
Tools and equipment we used:
- Pot,
- Chopping board,
- Knife,
- Bowl,
- Plate,
- Colander, and
- Spatula or ladle for frying
How to make the perfect but simple carbonara:
First we prepared the ingredients to be used. Then we started by boiling the water to cook the pasta. When the water was already boiling, we poured the pasta in and waited until the pasta was semi-cooked for about 9 minutes. After that we poured the pasta in a colander and washed the pasta with cold water to prevent the pasta from being soggy and set it aside.
To cook the sauce we started by heating the pot. Once the pot is hot, we poured an ample amount of oil.
Next we first sautéed the yellow onion, which we chopped into small cubes. When it's already caramelized, we added the chopped garlic and added the mushrooms next after about 10 seconds of frying the garlic. We fried the mushroom for about 1 minute and then added the original and spicy century tuna to the pot.
If you are wondering why we used original and spicy tuna, there's a reason behind it. Some of my friends can't eat spicy foods, while others love spicy foods, so to balance the spiciness of the carbonara, we used the original and spicy Century Tuna.
Now back to the procedure of making the carbonara-
We added the evaporated milk and the all-purpose cream. Then to taste we added salt, a lot of pepper, and sugar to balance the flavor of the sauce. After some time, we added the chopped cheese and let the cheese melt. Once the sauce was ready, we added the pasta in the pot and mixed it until it was well cooked.
How it tastes:
To me, it was highly savory. The spiciness was not excessive, and the sauce was balanced because you truly get to taste the pepper, the saltiness, and the sweetness. It was highly creamy and was not soggy at all because we rinsed the pasta using cold water after we took it out of the boiling water.
We really enjoyed the carbonara so much. It was very simple yet so good! I would love to make it again because it's very easy to make. I'm sure you can even do it too, for sure.
That's it! Thank you so much for reading until this point. I hope you'll try the recipe and let me know in the comment how it turns out! Until my next blog! xoxo.
