Mindful Eating at Midnight: Choosing Healthier Options

It is 1:00 AM I am still finishing some emails that were not answered due to our holiday break. The dinner was gone and I was not in the mood for cooking as early in the morning I would be preparing breakfast again.

From the stack of groceries that I bought previously, I checked on what I could eat without that much preparation. I have some canned corned beef, spam, and, sardines that can be eaten already without cooking, but my eyes got focused on the Musli Crunchy Oats.

I bought this as I am planning to at least lessen the food intake that I do daily. For the past few days I have been munching fried and greasy foods and though I love it I need to watch my intake still. Back then when I was reducing my meal intake I just ate Quaker Oats as a substitute for my cravings. After two to three spoonfuls of oats, my hunger had already subsided. The only problem that I have with oats is the taste isn't that appealing.

When I saw the packaging I could already see the texture of the food, it is not the usual grainy/powdery stuff that is bland in the mouth.

After opening the pack, a burst of stuff can be found. I tried each piece one by one and they are crunchy. In the packet, the suggested serving is with milk, I also bought some fresh milk in that way I can still follow what they are mentioning about this product.

Since it is dry and crunchy, adding milk makes the snack smooth to eat. Depending on one's taste submerging the whole oats into milk is not that required.

I just poured a few milliliters of milk on the oats and mixed it to coat everything. I didn't fill up the container that I have as it will make the oats soggy. This will defeat the purpose of buying crunchy oats.

For milk, I have used non-fat milk, we can use perhaps any unsweetened milk since the oats are already sweet.

Though the servings seem to be small it is jam packed with nutrients and fiber that can aid with digestion and this small snack made my tummy full too! I can say that this may be one of my favorite snacks that I will be eating now if I am in a rush.

I suggest Kuya try putting peanut butter sa oats mo. Masarap siya. Tas for me, nilalagyan ko din minsan ng bananas para mas nakakabusog.

Joke time lang talaga to sana mapanindigan ko sya.

Try ko yang peanut butter for added flavor din. Umay na me sa saging dito madaming stock hahaha
