Hello all, it's been a while since I last shared in the community. Today I was being invited by my supplier for meal at a Spanish Restaurant for dinner. It is the first time I am eating at a Spanish Restaurant and I was really looking forward to it. Something interesting is that, this supplier of mine is an expert food hunter and places that he invite me, will end up being visited by me for more times in the future as he recommendations are always good. So get right on with today's sharing.
The Place
Tinto Spanish Restaurant At Dempsey Hill
Address: 10 Dempsey Rd, #01-21, Singapore 247700
Notes on this place: Located at Dempsey Hill which is filled with amazing restaurants of different cuisine. To be able to do well in this place, they food they serve will definitely be of high standard. No issue with car parking, there are ample carpark available free of charge.
I would have to say this is a really nice and cozy place to dine in. The staff are all very courteous, the moment you walk past any one of them, they will greet you with a smile. Ambience is great with light music to make up a real good dining experience.
The Food
Now to the food that me and my supplier ordered for our dinner and we decided to do it family style where we order the food and we share to enjoy more variety.
We ordered 3 Tapas, namely Gambas Al Ajillo, Pulpo A La Brasa and Toasta Ramona.
For mains, we ordered a New Valenciana Paella and Cochinillo to share.
And for dessert, we ordered Arroz Con Leche, Churros Con Chocolate and Frutas & Pacharan.
All the names sound like a handful, but there were nice picks and recommended by the staff.
For beverage, I ordered a Red Wine Sangria.
Food Showcase:
Review: The prawns are really fresh with a nice bite, drizzled by the roasted garlic oil and garlic chips. And this comes with a light potato puree to complete the dish. Great flavours, fresh ingredients and a very smooth puree. Absolutely a great dish to order.
Review: Strongly recommended by the staff when we were ordering. The squid taste really great and fresh. I like the texture when chewing the squid and definitely being grilled to perfection. The Mojo Rojo sauce with the lentils elevated the dish well. Seafood lovers, this is something not to be missed.
Review: This is an interesting tapas. The anchovies were a little on the salty side of things but it was well balanced by the dried figs and also the toast which was done really well with a good crisp on the bite. A rather decent dish but a little heavy to my palette for the anchovies, if it was a lil less salty, that would have been amazing.
Review: From the picture you should be able to tell I love this dish so much that when it was served, the aroma was so appetizing I started munching it and before I knew it, I only had a small portion left remaining before I remembered to take a picture. Very rich flavours, fresh ingredients and a good variety of meats included as part of the dish. This is the dish that will make me wanna come back for more as it is just so hearty and easy on the palette. Rice was cooked to perfection, not too hard or not too soft.
Review: Never would I have imagine to be eating suckling pig in a Spanish Restaurant, but this is done so well, that it can be well matched to that of the Chinese Suckling Pig or the Lechon from the Phillipines. Nicely and crispy skin accompanied by the meat that it so tender all around. A good mix of vegetables as side dishes balance out any form of feeling too meaty. Another dish that is really good, but the Paella still rank on top!
Review: 3 different desserts, all tasting uniquely different. First for the Arroz Con Leche, a rice pudding that is soft and silky with a hint of spices to give it and interesting taste. I would say it is easy to eat dessert. Following which is the Frutas & Pacharan. A seemingly simple dish but loaded with flavours. Fresh fruits with nice sauce that contains Spanish brandy, really nice and soothing, a good ending dish for anyone. Lastly, the Churros with chocolate sauce. This dish will just captivate anyone whom has a sweet tooth. Nice and crispy with the chocolate complimenting the Churros to make it a hearty dessert and a smile that you ate something really nice.
Review: Interesting drink where chilled red wine is served with loads of fruits and Vermount. Easy to drink and nice to go with the Paella.
Overall:
Almost every dish is a hit for me. Really nice food coupled with great ambience. Fresh ingredients and loads of attention to detail where complimentary food are served to balanced out one another. From the first tapas that was served till the very last dessert, I was enjoying every minute of it. Definitely a place that I would come back for more. The Paella is just so good.
