The Ambience
During our recent visit to Bangalore, Ramesh (@bighungrypanda) and I had a cozy little date night at Fenny's. Located in the busy area of Ashok Nagar, near MG Road, Fenny’s has become a favorite spot for many people who want to unwind after a long day or celebrate something special.
The Ambience
Right from the entrance, the place gives off a warm and inviting feel. The first thing I noticed was the amazing ambience. Even before we sat down, I could feel the laid-back vibe of the place. It has beautiful rooftop seating surrounded by greenery. The entire place is decorated with fairy lights and warm lamps, and with the cozy wooden furniture, it feels like a peaceful hideout in the middle of a noisy city. The cool night breeze, combined with the beautiful setting, made it a perfect date night spot.

Fenny’s has a wide menu that covers Indian, Continental, and Italian dishes. The food is well-presented, and the portions are decent too. They use QR code menus, which I'm not really a fan of. I prefer flipping through a physical menu and picking what to order.

There was this 90 year old olive tree
It also has a bar with a great selection of drinks. From cocktails and mocktails to beer and wine, there’s something for everyone. If you’re not into alcohol, don’t worry—they also serve tasty non-alcoholic drinks. The drink menu felt well-thought-out and creative, with unique mixes that sounded tempting.
There was music playing through the speakers, and their playlist was pretty good. The volume was just right, so we could still have a conversation without shouting. Most of the songs were slow, classic love tracks, and they definitely added to the romance of our date, as we sang along to them. It was one of those nights where everything just clicked.
The Food
The Food
Coming to the food, we ordered two starters and one main course. For starters, we ordered a plate of Chicken Frito and Onion Rings. Funny story. So when the chicken fritos came to our table, we were a bit confused since they did not look like what we expected. They looked more like a different appetizer altogether. Anyways we ate a few but were hugely disappointed. We had a feeling that this was not what we ordered. After a while, the waiter comes to our table with another dish. We are like "We only ordered 2 starters". Then after talking to the chef and manager they figured out that the first dish they brought us was not chicken fritos. They took the previous plate back and gave us the dish we actually ordered. The staff were very polite and handled it quickly, which we appreciated. Now this was much better. The chicken was crispy on the outside and soft inside. It had a nice spicy taste that wasn’t too strong. Each bite was crunchy and full of flavor. It was served hot and fresh, and I enjoyed every bite of it.

Onion rings are my all-time favourite starters, and these were just as good as I expected. They were crispy, golden, and not too oily. The batter was light, and the onions inside were soft and sweet.

For main course, we ordered the Cottage Cheese Fried Steak with Chimichurri. It looked beautiful when it arrived, like a complete meal on a single plate. The paneer was crunchy on the outside and soft inside. The green chimichurri sauce was fresh and a little tangy, which made the dish more tasty. The mashed potatoes were creamy and soft, and I loved it. The garlic bread was crispy with pesto on top. I also liked the vegetables—they were cooked just right and had a nice taste. The whole plate was full of flavour and made me feel happy and full. It’s a meal I would love to eat again!

To pair with the food, we also ordered two glasses of Fratelli Cabernet Sauvignon. I'm most definitely a red wine person, and this was pretty good. It went really well with our meal and gave our dinner a classy touch.
The total bill came up to 2236INR ($26) inclusive of taxes. The prices are on the higher side, but not too expensive for the location and the overall experience.
All in all, it was a perfect date night with great food and good vibes. We left full, happy, and already talking about what to try next time. Definitely a place we’d love to come back to.
