My partner bought me a camera last year, and I'm currently paying it back with the money I earn from photo-related posts on the Hive Blog 😁
The reason why I wanted to take pictures with a good camera is because although the iPhone camera is great for taking beautiful pictures easily, I felt it had limitations when taking detailed pictures or when taking pictures of food at home at night with less light. I had also been using an SLR camera for about 10 years and wanted to genuinely improve my photography skills again.
I take landscape photos when I go cycling, and balcony photos during the gardening season, but I take only food photos. I love food...
I am now able to take much better, clearer photos during the daytime, and I get excited when I can include beautiful photos when writing posts on Hive Blog.
Looking back at the photos I took last year, I like the vegan burger photo below the best. It's nice to take pictures in a messy kitchen, but I was reminded that it's important to take pictures with the proper background and plates in mind.
Here are some other photos I took last year that I like, mainly of food.
I am still practicing and can only take one or two photos a month at a satisfactory level, but I like this camera for its depth and the ability to take photos with the clearness and colors I really like.
Although I can't beat natural light in the daytime, I practice taking pictures at night with creative lighting. German houses are darkly lit and it is really difficult to take pictures at night.
And so, my photography goals for this year are...
- Take a picture of something every day. Take a picture, reflect on it, and improve it.
- Practice by reading National Geographic Photo Basics
The National Geography book says take as many pictures as you can. Although it has only been a few months since I got the book, I notice the effects of doing so.
I would also like to clarify issues and find solutions, such as "I want to take beautiful pictures indoors at night" or "I want to take beautiful pictures of hot food with steam" (I tried many strange things, such as having my daughter blow off the steam or turning on a fan 😅).
I will try my best to improve my photography skills in 2024 and make my posts more enjoyable 💪
去年、パートナーにカメラを買ってもらいました。Hive Blogの写真関連の投稿で稼いだ報酬でただいま絶賛返済中です。自分で買ってもいいかなと思ったのですが、諸々の理由と、Hive Blogで返すっていうのも楽しいかなと思って。
サイクリングに出かければ風景写真を撮るし、ガーデニングシーズンにはバルコニーの写真も撮りますが、もっぱら食べ物の写真ばかり撮っています。ご飯大好きです・・・。
なんでカメラで写真を撮りたくなったかというと、iPhoneのカメラは手軽にきれいな写真が撮れて素晴らしいものの、詳細な写真を撮る時や、夜間に家で食べ物の写真を撮る時などに限界を感じていたのです。あとは10年ほど前に一眼レフを使っていて、また純粋に写真の腕をあげたいなと。
昼間はずいぶんきれいに鮮明な写真を撮れるようになりました。Hive Blogの投稿を書くときにもきれいな写真を入れられるとテンションがあがります。
去年撮った写真を見返してみて、一番気に入っているのはこの写真です。雑多なキッチンで撮るのも良いですが、きちんと背景やお皿も考えて撮るのが大事だなと改めて思いました。
そのほか去年撮って気に入っている写真を食べ物メインでいくつか。
まだまだ練習中で、満足のいく写真が撮れるのは1ヶ月に1、2枚レベルなのですが、深さがあって、ばきっと好みの色味で写真が撮れるのがこのカメラの好きなところです。
昼間の自然光には勝てないものの、夜はライティングを工夫して写真を撮る練習をしています。ドイツの家は照明が暗めで、夜写真を撮るのは本当に難しいです。
そんなこんなで今年の写真の目標は・・・
- 毎日何かを撮る、撮って反省と改善を繰り返す
- National Geographic Photo Basics を読み進めて練習する
撮って撮って練習あるのみとNational Geographyの本にあり、まだこの本を手にしてから数ヶ月ですが効果を実感しています。
あとは「夜の室内できれいに写真をとりたい」「湯気のあがる熱々のご飯の写真をきれいに撮りたい」（子供に湯気を吹き飛ばしてもらったり、扇風機を回したりおかしなことも結構試しました😂）など課題を明確にして解決策をさぐっていくのもやってみたいです。
そんなこんなの2024年、写真の腕を上げて、楽しんでもらえる投稿をできるようにがんばります💪
