Reflection-One of the Good Things of Being an Adult

Good day, Hiveans! Another blog from your ordinary girl. I hope you’re fine while reading my blog today.

Last July, my husband and I received a souvenir. It was a food made in Manila, Philippines. The food was “Hopia” and was introduced to the Filipinos by the Chinese. The name of the product was “Eng bee tin”, as I searched on Google, it is truly famous. The souvenir was personally delivered by my friend @coloredshimmers. She had a short visit to Manila and there she met another friend who is stationed in the said place. It is A, from the MARLS group.

When they met in Manila, we did a group call using Messenger. I jokingly told A to give us a souvenir since it would be a free charge to deliver because @coloredshimmers would bring it since A missed visiting Cebu this year.

I was surprised when they made my joke into reality bringing us “hopia” from Manila. It was my first time trying their “hopia” too. According to A, it is their favorite. When I tried the food, I could say that the “hopia” from Manila is different from the “Hopia” of Cebu.

Receiving those souvenirs gives me a reflection on our lives now. We are now an adult. From being teens who depended on our allowance from our parents, we had no money on our own. We can buy things based on the remaining allowance that we received. It’s too hard to share food since the money we have was only intended for one person. There were times to have a friend picnic, we would harvest fruits from our friends to have snacks while we enjoyed sharing stories.

Now, we have work that makes us earn money. The money is purely from the hard work that we rendered. It is now easy for us to buy things or food and share it with our friends. We don’t need to climb trees to harvest fruits to have a snack during our togetherness. It is fine for us and no worries after.

If we focus on the positive side, this is one of the good things about being an adult. We earn, we buy, and do not feel guilty spending, since it is now our own money.

Even though being an adult is hard when we focus on the good side of it, I think it helps us to move forward, we may look back during our days with fewer worries, but thinking of the things that we have now, for me, no regrets on being an adult.

Thank you for reaching this far. If you want to inspire, learn, and witness beautiful scenery, experiences, and places, do not forget to follow, upvote, and reblog my post to support and motivate me to write more. Thank you.
