TODAY'S TOPIC:

MOVE ON WITH YOUR LIFE

BIBLE TEXTS:

Luke 4:16-29

KEY VERSE:

Then passing through the midst of them, He went His way" (Luke 4:29).

CONTROLLING THOUGHT:

Sometimes, in life the safest thing to do is to ignore your critics and move on with your life.

THE MESSAGE:

Sometimes, one's success can be a threat to many people, especially, one's acquaintances. When this happens, the safest thing to do is to separate from such people and move on with your life. This wisdom was demonstrated by our Lord Jesus Christ in today's text. He spoke about his anointing and mission but the people didn't like what He said. They got so wroth with Him that they wanted to destroy Him. They dragged Him to the top of the city hill and determined to throw Him down from there. What really was His offense? He did not curse or abuse them. He only found what was written about Him in the Scriptures and announced it to the assembly and they got angry with Him.

Let's be wary of people who are not excited about our prospects of prosperity. Let us learn to walk away from people who make efforts to destroy our self-esteem. Walk away from those who look down on you and do not acknowledge your growth. They were asking, is this not Joseph's son? In other words, when did this boy get such anointing? They got angry that He was anointed. But the Lord demonstrated great wisdom by not letting them drain His anointing or distract Him from His mission. Instead of arguing or fighting with them, He simply moved on to the next town to continue with His works and declarations.

Friends, it is time to walk away from any and every relationship that has no regard for the grace of God upon your life. Sometimes, peace is maintained by relating with people from a distance. The knowledge of your life-long-assignment and the grace for accomplishing it is your greatest possession. Don't let anyone make you lose it.

CALL TO SURRENDER:

If you would like to surrender your life and will to Jesus, say this prayer:

Lord Jesus, I come to You a sinner. I ask that You forgive my sins. I accept You my heart as my Lord and personal saviour. Thank you for saving me, in Jesus' name. Amen.

GENERAL PRAYER

Lord, grant me the wisdom to know when to walk away from unhealthy relationships.
