Hello there! It's me, Mae!
I hope you all are doing well. There’s something refreshing about taking a break from all the academic chaos, especially when it’s unexpected. It was just a regular morning when Crishalyn messaged me that we didn’t have classes for the day. Instantly, we both agreed—it’s a perfect chance to unwind. And where else would we always go but SM City Bacolod? Hahaha
Then I quickly took a bath and messaged her that I’d be waiting downtown, and headed off.
I actually arrived before her, so I decided to pass time by checking out a nearby thrift store. As I browsed through pants and dresses looking for some nice finds, Crishalyn finally arrived. She joined in and helped me choose a dress—and guess what? I found this beautiful red dress that fit perfectly! It made me feel really happy, so I bought it right away.
After that little shopping adventure, we went to the nearest Cebuana Lhuillier branch to inquire about getting a savings card for her. It felt good doing something practical and productive together, especially because I was the one who encouraged her to get one. She always says she can’t save money because it’s just sitting in her pocket—easy to spend. So I told her to try using a savings card, like the one I have, to help her set money aside and keep it safe. Hopefully, this small step will make a big difference for her.

By the time we finished, it was already lunchtime, and we were starving. So we headed straight to SM and ate at Ribshack. The food was great. I ordered a 3 pc pork barbecue with unli rice and one spareribs for her. After lunch, we stayed a bit longer at Ribshack, just chitchatting about school and random what-ifs about life after graduation. But as always, there’s always room for dessert.

So we headed to a small ice cream stall on the north side of SM and got ourselves a sweet treat from Munsterific. I picked the one with caramel toppings, while Crishalyn went for the chocolate. We found a spot to sit, and as we enjoyed our ice cream, we couldn’t stop talking about how good it was. It felt like being in high school again—those carefree days when a cup of ice cream was enough to make you smile. Back then, ice cream was inexpensive, flavorful, and always part of the happiest moments.

While we were sitting, we noticed a pet show happening nearby. To our surprise there were adorable cats being showcased, and they instantly caught our attention. We couldn’t resist pulling out our phones to snap a few photos. They were just too cute not to capture!

After finishing our ice cream, we stood up and walked toward a sale section in one corner of the mall. There were bags on display branded ones like Jovanni and Secosana with discounts ranging from 20% to 50% off. The catch? Most of them were still 700 to 1,000 pesos, and well, our wallets were screaming next time! hahaha. So we just took a glance, laughed at our window shopping moment.
As the afternoon stretched on, we both started feeling the day catching up to us. We sat for a while and just appreciated how spontaneous the day turned out to be. Eventually, it was time to part ways. We walked to the exit and exchanged our thank-yous and goodbyes. As I rode home, I couldn’t help but smile to myself because even the simplest day can turn into something unforgettable when spent with someone who shares your vibe.
Hoping to see you all again! Bye bye! ❤️
