I have been trying to participate in the challenge for a long time. I have also my own challenges as my working day, especially going out with clients, taking photos might actually makes me look less professional at a business dining event.
Weekend is pretty much the only time i can comfortably taking my own sweet time to enjoy good old chinese traditional food. So happen today i need to send the home minister to the school alumni meeting, we ditched the kids at home as the kids are bananas (yellow skin, but white on the inside). Dont use the karate kids kinda Chinese restaurant to compare with our highly cultivated old school chinese food here which we still cooks intestines and unprocessed liver. Our kids don't really know how to appreciate those kind of taste.
The noodle shop located at Damansara area, a local community residential right opposite of Starling Mall. We choose this place because its "supposed" to have air conditioning, unfortunately airconds are broken. The cold air maker does the job a little, but don't expect it to stop you from sweating.
There are different type of combination, fried fish head, boiled fish head, or even fish paste(fish ball but less starchy). Diner can also choose different kind of noodle,l such as flat noodle, thin vermicelli, thick vermicelli.
The soup is rather whitish because they added condensed milk, that will make it creamy. However, as i understood from some old school fish head noodle chefs, back in the days Chinese doesn't drink milk. The white soup is supposed to be made of boiling the fish alone until the bones started to emit the whitish color, just like a proper Tonkotsu ramen soup.
On top of all those, sone of the major ingredients included rice wine, tomatoes, ginger slices, oinions, fried onions and white pepper. We didn't order drink, as the soup will be more than enough for us to consume.
Here comes the bill. Not the most affordable considering Malaysia living standed has been continuously hitting the inflation button. For an authentic fish head noodle below RM20, at a prime area in PJ, this is consider one of the best choice already i think.
