I have not grown anything myself lately and ate it. I miss that feeling of satisfaction. I must find a way off this highway to hell and plant a garden again. It has been years. Too many years since we have planted and harvested our own food here.

Yeah man I feel ya.. last year our garden did not do so well and it was really frustrating to see it mostly empty. But there's always next year.
Hope you can find some time off work to start one.. maybe you can do something low maintenance so just plant them and forget about them.. like fruit trees. They usually do not need much care and can be left alone for long periods of time.
