Come to think of it, this must have been the 10 times we have visited this restaurant over the past half a year. Not the regular' regular restaurant we go to, but whenever rainy days and slightly chiller weather, we will come to this place for a hot dinner bowl.

Chinese tea is Da Hong Pao 大紅袍, in translation it means big red gown 😅 don't know how it got the name, but it's a Chinese style full tea leaf "black tea". This is yet another big difference, why is green tea green and black tea is brown 🤣 ok so it's not cheap. Nowadays Chinese restaurants has a trick, to name their Chinese tea with superduper name, so they can sell at higher price. A usual roadside stall sells unnamed Chinese tea for RM1, and this big red gown cost me RM3.5 😅 the explanation is always, because these are well known expensive tea leaf, natural and healthy. Compare to the RM1 tea which are full of coloring and flavoring toilet papers 😅

Here's the signature porridge. Their claypot porridge is probably one of the best porridge I've had. It served with different kind of condiments depending on your choice. During lent season, I will usually go with rish porridge if I'm not on vegetarian diet. This is a bowl of minced meat and salted egg porridge. Light, salvory and warming. Extremely suitable for rainy days in Malaysia as majority of our people has low tolerance in colder temperature.

Our little princes ordered a portion of fried Yao Zhar Guai 油炸鬼🤣 ok it's NOT a Malaysian thing, apparently this is a Chinese dish. And the name where it came from has a history of 3 kingdom which I'm not going to cover it here today 🤣 or this blog is going to turned in to a history digging theead, but the actual name in everywhere around the world is Zha You Tiao 炸油條 fried dough sticks. It's usually a huge stick of fried doughnut we Chinese like to dip in porridge for breakfast.

I've got myself a bowl of minced meat rice served with braised egg, pickled vegetables. Minced meat is braised with Taiwanese style sauce, slightly salty and easy to go down with. The braised tofu helped to add more protein into the bowl. Rice is soft.

Princes ordered a kids meal minced meat rice that came with cocktail sausages, braised eggs and tofu and slices of orange. Very appetizing. Smaller portion but have everything under one tray.

Had to post my daily HBD conversion progress to remind myself I have a mission.

There's a price drop in hive. I think I came to a reason of why I'm not getting more Hive, it's because HBD also devalued at the same time.
