Hello hivers! Hello world! This week's community challenge is very sweet for me. It reminds me of how we started as couples. I'm so very thin and slender when we met each other and he brought me to a famous fast food chain which is chowking and we ordered chicken. Whenever we go to their place he always kill native chicken to make Adobo. We always go to a grilled chicken restaurant locally named "Mang Inasal" and nowadays that we have kids, we often went to jollibee and ordered fried chicken. That's why any recipe of chicken is my favorite. But when it comes to comfort food, I really wanted the chicken Adobo cooked by my husband. Either it's a native or broiler as long as he is the one who will cook it I really had a feeling that my cravings are satisfied.
The ingredients needed are:
Onion
Garlic
Oil
Chicken meat
Ground Black pepper
Chili
Soy sauce
Vinegar
Water
Actually he has lots of ingredients for this like bell pepper, onion leaves and some vegetables but we cook it in the evening so our resources are limited. To say we made a very simple chicken Adobo to participate this week's challenge.
It will start by cleaning the pan, drying it and putting oil in it.
Then washed the chicken many times. Actually it could be whole chicken if you want but today I bought all chicken wings.
Then add the garlic and onion to the oil. Fry it as it is golden brown and release strong aroma. Then add the chicken wings and stir. Then just let it fry for 2 minutes.
Then add little amount of vinegar and lots of soy sauce. Then 2 cups of water and let it boil until the meat will be tender.
After 5-8 minutes, it's already cooked and I separate pieces of it for the kids.
Then put a lot of chili. Because we both like super spicy foods. But you know after eating spicy foods it feels like we regret it because it's very hard to get rid of the spiciness on the tongue. Sometimes I ate ice cubes just to ease the chili pain.
Then we ate together! While we ate, I told him that the reason why I bought chicken is that I participate the community challenge. He laughed and said, "I hope there will be more food challenge on hive so I can cook and eat a lot more often" Hahaha and we both laugh. While we ate we talk about our memories with chicken from Adobo, tinola, chicken curry, grilled chicken and chicken lumpia. We both love chicken recipes so much.
That's all for today hivers and thank to sir @justinparke for having this challenge. It's nostalgic to us, we had so many memories that comes back to our mind. And my husband is happy because he has eaten chicken Adobo again.
