Hello, how are you? My parents really like Paksiw na bangus so much specially my dad but my cousin is so done eating it and I ask him why he doesn’t like to eat it and he answer “it is too much work to eat and I don’t have time for it” hahaha LOL I get him bangus or milk fish in english have so much fishbone in it that it is too much work to eat it LOL. So when he’s at work, I used to cook it for my parents and my brother for their lunch.

And the one food I am going to cook is what we call “Papait”, it is a type of leafy vegetables that can be paired with alamang (shrimp paste) and kamatis (tomatoes), which taste perfect for me!

Ingredients I Used:

  • 1 Red Onion
  • 1 Ginger
  • 4 tbsp.White Vinegar
  • 2 tbsp. Fish Sauce

  • 1/4 tsp.Ground Pepper
  • 2 Cups of Water
  • 1 tbsp. Cooking Oil

And then I added the aromatics like garlic, red onion, and ginger, and I cooked it until the aroma came out.

Then I added fish sauce, and let the fish sauce seep into the aromatics for about 10 seconds.

And then I added 4 tablespoons of white vinegar.

When the water starts boiling, I am going to add the bangus (milk fish) into the pan.

To add spice to the food, I added 1/4 teaspoon of ground pepper.

And then to add more flavor to the food, I added 1 teaspoon of all-in-one seasoning.

And then to add a spicy and unique flavor to it, I added the green chilis. I added about 5 of them.

Let it cook for about 10 minutes on medium heat and make sure flip the fish every 5 minutes to make sure to cook it evenly.

Cooking the Papait:

First thing to do is to drown and wash it.

In a pot, I added about a liter of water and let it boil.

When the water starts boiling, I add the papait and cook it or blanche for about 1-2 minutes.

After that, I cool it down in cold water to stop it from cooking.

Ehhh, now ko lang narinig yong Papait. I thought nga you're sharing about papaitan and namali kalang ng lagay ng name, so may ganyan palang gulay 🤔. With its name, so mapait sya? Kasing pait ng mustasa ba? Btw, I prefer bangus talaga kesa tilapia, so I can't understand back in college why my friends like tilapia more than bangus. Skl, napag usapan namin yan b4 while having lunch eh hahaha. Di daw nila bet lasa ng putik sa bangus. Lol. Ako na walang pang lasa, like na like talaga yan. Lolol. And now gusto ko rin mag paksiwwww🤤🤤

Talaga?
