Hello, how are you? Since I first tried to cook Pochero, that recipe has always been on our weekly food list. I guess they're craving it again, and I get it. There are a lot of veggies in it, and it's a very healthy food, and most of them I really like to eat too.
You know, when we like something like a specific food, we eat until we get tired of it. There, this one time, my cousin requested this fish fillet, the cream dory. We ate it once a week, which made me beg him not to request to cook that fish again LOL I'm so done with it.
Pochero is one of my go-to foods when I want meat and vegetables in my food. My brother used to cook this, but I knew that it was pochero LOL.
Ingredients I Used:
Ingredients I Used:
- 1 Large Carrots
- 1/4 kg Long String Beans
- 2 tbsp. Fish Sauce
- 1 Pork Broth Cube
- 250g Tomato Sauce
- 2 100g Pork and Beans
- 1.7 l Hot Water
- Ground Pepper
- Half Cup Cooking Oil
- Garlic
- Red Onion
- 4 Tomatoes
- 500g Meat
- 7 Banana Saba
- Cabbage
- 5 Potatoes
Let's Cook!
Let's Cook!
In a hot pan, I added half a cup of cooking oil.
After that, I fried the potatoes until browning started appearing. You don't have to follow this part, but if you do, I recommend it, as it gives a unique flavor.
Next, I fried the banana saba just like the potatoes fried until the browning starts appearing.
For the final, I fried the carrots until the color changed.
After that, I reduced the cooking oil to 1 tablespoon of oil, and then I added the meat and cooked it until the meat turned brown.
Then I added the aromatics in like garlic and red onion, and sauteed until the fragrance came out.
Next is I am going to add the tomatoes.
I cook it until the texture turns mushy.
Then I added two tablespoons of fish sauce. Let the fish sauce seep into the meat for about a minute.
To make the dish tastier, I added 1 pork broth cube, and any all-in-one seasoning is good.
Then I added the tomato sauce.
Then I added 100g pork and beans, adding this makes the sauce taste more unique, so I added about 2 of this.
And mix them until well combined.
And then I added 1.7 litres of hot water, and I let it boil until the meat is tender.
I first added the chopped cabbage.
Then I fried the potatoes earlier.
Then the carrots.
Then the string beans.
And the saba on the top.
And then I added about 1/4 teaspoon of ground pepper.
Cook them for about 7 minutes or until the vegetables are ready. I like to cook it with the lid closed.
Now that the pochero is cooked, it is ready to be served.
Serve plated! Eat it when still hot :D
Happy Eating!
