Ginisang Kalabasa, Sitaw and Sigarilyas

Ginisang Sitaw.gif

Hello, how are you? We go out today to buy groceries for our little celebration for our dog Mochi, which is her birthday tomorrow, and we already gave her a whole leg of chicken for her to eat. Hehehe.

So we pretty much ate earlier, so what I cooked for us is Ginisang Kalabasa, sitaw, and sigarilyas. We pretty much need to eat each of these veggies because my mom's annual checkup said that her cholesterol level is pretty high, so we must eat less red meat at the moment. So yeah, those vegetables are high in vitamins and minerals that are needed to balance health.

Ingredients I Used:

0.JPG

  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • half cup meat
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 red onion
  • small ginger
  • 3 tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp bagoong (fish sauce)
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 chicken broth cube
  • 1/4 kilo long string beans
  • 1/4 kilo kalabasa squash
  • 1 cup of sigarilyas winged beans

Let's Cook!

In a hot pan, I added about a tablespoon of cooking oil. Let the oil sit first before going to use.

Then I added the meat, which is chicken. This is a healthier option than using pork. Let the meat cook until browning starts to appear on it.

Next, I added the aromatics like garlic, red onion, and ginger, and let them cook until the fragrance comes out, or just like the meat, when browning starts appearing.

Then I added the tomatoes.

Mix the tomatoes frequently until the texture turns mushy. When the texture is mushy, that will make the color of the sauce turn more appetizing.

Next, I am going to add about 2 tablespoons of Bagoong. If you don’t have it, you can use fish sauce. Let the bagoong seep into the tomatoes for about 30 seconds.

After that, I added 2 cups of hot water. I used hot water just to make it boil faster because I needed to cook earlier.

When the water starts boiling, I added chicken broth cube, and then I mix it until the cube completely dissolves.

After that, I am ready to add the veggies. I add the sitaw and kalabasa.

After that, I added the sigarilyas.

When all the vegetables are in, I am going to close the lid and then cook them for about 7 minutes.

The food is ready! Happy eating!!
