Hello! How was your holiday? Did you spend it doing things or took it as a chance to rest? While April 1st is known as April Fool's Day it is also Eid'l Fitr or Feast of Ramadan.
Well, in my case, I'd say my first day of April is among the most tiring days I've had this year. It's alright, however, because I had my airconditioning unit finally cleaned.
I should've had it cleaned last year around October but aircon service company didn't reply to my messages. I didn't bother calling because the introvert in me was keeping me from doing so. Even some people on social media were also complaining that their numbers were unreachable.
2025 came and I planned to just visit their office and personally schedule a cleaning for my unit. But then again, talking face to face is worst than a phone call. You guess it right, I wasn't able to go. Lol.
Until summer has been officially declared in the Philippines. I felt that I really had to have my airconditioning unit cleaned. Aside from that, my unit will be a year old soon and I won't be able to avail the 1 free cleaning after a year from purchase.
And just last week, I saw their page getting active again so I tried to call them this time. Finally got the courage! Yasss. The lady on the other end of the call scheduled the cleaning on April 1st.
The lady told me they'll be calling early morning so I assumed they'll be coming early. One day before the scheduled date, I started cleaning my room and clearing the path for them to easily carry the unit out of the house.
April 1st came and I've waited until lunch time but didn't get even a single call from the servicing company. Was I pranked?
I checked their social media page and made sure that they're open even if it was a holiday. I mustered up my courage again and called. According to the staff, their staff/technicians were already out servicing other units but they'll surely come to clean my unit within the day. And true enough, they arrived two hours later.
I can see how expert they are with how they easily took out the heavy unit and carry it out of the house. However, they weren't able to pull out the case as it seemed stuck. They just wiped the dirt on the case instead. You can see it on the first photo of this post.
Almost an hour later, they brought back the unit in and had me fill out the form. I'm glad the company was accredited by my unit brand and acknowledged the free cleaning. I didn't pay anything but gave them a tip instead.
The technician set the temperature down to 18 and observed the unit for a few minutes before leaving. I waited for the room to become cool and brought the temp down to 27. What temperature do you set your AC? For me 27 on eco mode which alternately switches the electric fan is enough to make the room feel comfortable. The fan actually helps distribute the cool air around the room.
Some tips I know when having an airconditioner unit:
• Go for inverter type
• Choosing how many HP depends on your room space
• Cover cracks or open spaces on walls in your room
• Install the unit where there is no obstruction outside
• Use curtains to help cool down your room
• Clean filter twice a month
• Have the unit cleaned twice a year for maintenace
• Use a voltage protector when your area experiences frequent power outage
While my unit is fresh and clean again, my room is a mess on the other hand. It's not too obvious on the photo but footprints and marks of mud filled the floor of my room. I first brought back the things outside the room to their usual arrangement and just by thinking of cleaning the floor, slippers, and the chairs they stepped on made me exhausted and hungry.
I was too tired to cook so I think I deserve some take out food this time. I've been craving for a chickenjoy for a while now, so I granted my wish. With a few taps on the food panda, I was able to make an order and even got a discount.
I also got some peach mango pie and mango jelly sundae. I converted the drinks to iced mocha as well. The mango jelly sundae is a new product for their summer menu. I picked this sundae flavor because I think mango and jelly would taste good together with sundae and I wasn't wrong. I recommend it. The sundae doesn't look very appealing on the photo because it has begun melting though I guarantee it's good.
For the chickenjoy, it's still good but it seems like it tasted a bit different now. I'd say the chickenjoy before tasted better. And of course, my forever love peach mango pie is still good as ever. I just didn't like that it's too small now.
I rested for a few hours before I had convinced myself to start cleaning my room. I have to do it that day because I won't be able to sleep if I didn't. I started cleaning on the wee hours of the morning, put back my things, and took a bath after. My legs felt really tired after so I have to put salonpas or those patches to relieve the muscles. I think I was able to finally sleep at five in the morning.
Anyway, I'm glad my airconditioning unit is now clean and also got to eat some of the foods I'm craving. I'm now ready for summer! If you're in the Philippines and watching the news, I'm sure you've seen Dagupan City being among the topnotchers of warmest cities this summer so it's really important to have an AC to keep the space cool.
Stay safe and hydrated everyone! Take care, wear sunscreen, and don't forget your umbrella. :)
