Last time, I mentioned that my father and I decided to go to the beach for our morning jog instead of just staying at the track oval. It was too crowded there as the sun was about to rise.
As we enjoyed the sea breeze and the beautiful sunrise, I spotted a taho vendor. I asked my father if he had brought any money because I suddenly craved some, as it had been a while since I'd had it. Fortunately, he had his coin purse with him, so he bought me some taho.
Of course, he also bought one for himself. :)
Taho is a famous Filipino street food dessert. It's basically soft tofu, sago (small pearls similar to tapioca), and brown sugar syrup. However, for this particular vendor, he also added a bit of condensed milk. It was too sweet for me... I should have asked him not to put some. XD
Despite it being sweeter than I liked, I still enjoyed it. It was warm and delicious. This smaller cup of taho is just Php 10 ($0.17). There's a bigger cup which is double the price.
Taho vendors usually go around residential streets and/or public places shouting "TAHOOOO" to get their potential customers' attention. Our house is away from the main road, so they seldom pass by.
Have you ever tried this one? Or does your country have a similar snack?
If you happen to come to the Philippines and hear someone shouting "TAHO", call him by shouting the same thing and try this delicious treat! It's definitely one of my comfort foods as it doesn't only warm my tummy, but also my heart. <3
I'll end this post here. Thanks a lot for reading and see you around! I'll exercise for a bit before hitting the sack... it's back to regular work from tomorrow! XD
The sun and sky earlier today... XD
Have a great one!
