Hello dear Hivers! 💖 Hope you're having a wonderful day! 🌻
Here in the Philippines, K-dramas and K-Pop have made Korean culture a huge hit. Korean Marts have popped up everywhere because of Korean Wave, and a lot of us have become super curious about Korean food. My sister is always the one who craves food just by how it looks, and she kept telling me she wanted to try Samyang Buldak Carbonara. Watching K-dramas also made me really curious to try some Korean food myself.
So, I headed to a Korean Mart near our place to grab some. Since I love the color pink, I was immediately drawn to the attractive pink packaging of the Carbonara variety. Because I had no idea how they tasted, I decided to be adventurous and bought two different kinds I found: one was Cheese Carbonara, and the other was Creamy Carbonara. Each packet cost about 80 PHP (around $1.40).

I actually ended up combining both the Cheese and Creamy Carbonara packets into one big bowl since I didn't want to waste water by cooking them separately. I figured mixing them would be an interesting experiment.
Cooking instant noodles is usually pretty easy, and this was no different. I just followed the instructions written on the back of the packaging:
Cooking Process:
Step 1: First, I boiled some water.
Step 2: Then, I put the noodles into the boiling water and let them cook for about 5 minutes, until they got nice and soft.

Step 3: Next, I strained most of the water out, but made sure to keep just a little bit, as the instructions said. So, the noodles were still slightly wet.

Step 4: Then, I squeezed in the liquid sauce and sprinkled in the powder from both packets.
Step 5: Finally came the stirring! ✨ I mixed it really well until everything was coated. For an extra touch of cheesy goodness, I also added a sliced cheese on top before serving.
The moment it entered my mouth, it tasted deliciously cheesy and yummy! 💖 It was exactly what I hoped for. However, after just a few seconds, the spice kicked in 🔥 The spice gradually increased with every bite, getting hotter and hotter as I ate more. I realized, next time, I probably shouldn't put all the spicy sauce in. I think using a little less would allow the amazing cheesy and creamy flavors to shine even more ✨
This first experience with Samyang Buldak Carbonara was definitely a memorable one; a fun, delicious, and fiery adventure fueled by K-dramas and curiosity! 😂 It's amazing how a simple packet of noodles can bring so much excitement (and heat!) to a cold weather.
This post is my entry for ASEAN Hive Community Challenge #165: Spicy Spoonfuls.
