Flavaville In B&W

I have seen the promised land, and it is full of food trucks. Or maybe that's just the International Food Truck Festival in Waterfront Park. I did speak with a blazing trash can on the way there so maybe it's both.

Think they said it was the fourth edition of the shindig, last week was the first I'd heard of it. Was looking for something interesting to take photos of this weekend and then my belly got the better of me.

Twas the right choice. Got chicken adobo from this place and it did not disappoint. Was in for a bit of a surprise though, saw chicken adobo on the menu and got excited, completely forgot that the Filipino version differs quite a bit from the pollo adobo I fell in love with in New Mexico. The yum was the same though, and it didn't even come with a side of heartburn.

Wasn't sure if there'd be many folks there but even with a couple sportsball games and a university graduation going on nearby there was still a good crowd. Aunt Tifa must have been there too, that trash can didn't set itself on fire. It was basically a giant picnic, but with a bar and live music.

More food trucks than I cared to count too, the array of options reminded me of being down on the National Mall in DC. Seems a shame to have to wait a year for the next one, there were too many good smells that I didn't have room to investigate.

That's enough about food, gone and made myself hungry again.

I am amazed that the food truck serves Filipino cuisine! I love adobo because it is so delicious! It's wonderful to see that you also enjoy Filipino food.

This city loves its food (and food trucks) :) There were actually a few different ones there serving Filipino cuisine, was hard to pick one. Adobo is so good, just wish it was easier to find around here. We did have a Filipino restaurant here that I was rather fond of but it closed years ago, was glad to finally be able to taste some again.

Congratulations
