Are those streets dangerous?

in Black And White6 months ago

I really love the "leading lines" property of the streets in the photography.

It is a composition technique that we, the passionate photographers, utilize to "lead" the eye of the observed into the desired direction.

Check out the first photo below. Isn't your eyes "dragged" into the top, right-hand third of the picture where the road meets the sky ;)

However, my question today is, do you think, only by looking at the photos, and can you say those streets are dangerous?

Here is a small hint. If you take a look at the person in the middle of the second photo, you may realize the answer. Who walks their dog on the shoulders when the streets are safe...

Right? ;)

You probably know by now how much I love Black & White or sometimes referred as Monochromatic photography. I have always believed that while Color Photography shows the external part of our world, Black and White Photography shows the soul, the inner hidden side of everything. Please consider the first photo of this post as my entry today to the established #monomad daily contest by the monochromes account and community and supported by the qurator account, thank you everyone for your hard and continuous efforts to build and grow this great community!

I really like the picture you shared, the picture of the building is combined with black and white and the architecture is amazingly beautiful, I really enjoyed it, Thank you for sharing❤

Thank you for your kind words!

Leading lines in empty urban spaces I think tends to be what I shoot the most. Especially with some really nice lighting. Such a simple but powerful tool.

What's the dog thing regarding though? How are those streets unsafe?

Hi! I checked some of your latest posts but couldn't find such a photo, please point me to such ones, I'd like to see them.

With regards to the dog and the streets safety... I don't know. As I wrote, "Who walks their dog on the shoulders when the streets are safe..."

Thank you!

Ah those are the 35mm film ones, it has been a while since I posted those. I ran out of film here in Armenia and there are pretty much just two (from what I have found) places that sell it, but at insanely high prices. So I've mostly just been sticking to digital to run around with for the general day-to-day stuff. I should be going to Georgia again in a few months though and I think they'll have more film options at better prices. I'm looking forward to it, especially since I have a fun Soviet camera to play around with, with a Helios 44-2!

Ah, I see. These plans... that sounds lovely, hopefully you make it and then share the photos ;)
