RE: Why do people have junk food addictions?

in Olio di Balenayesterday

The older I get the less junk food I eat. It's never very healthy and usually high in calories and unhealthy fats. The issue with people being "addicted" the junk food is real, some people are getting a dopamine rush from it and they keep eating. It's really an eating disorder in all reality if you think about it.

I think eating healthy and more natural foods is a smart move. Limit amounts of red meat and sugar, and watch your caloric intake. I gain weight easily now so I watch things very closely.

A word of warning for crash dieters who eat next to nothing to lose weight, it can cause serious and even fatal health problems. I had a friend do that and ended up in the hospital for a week!

I think the older we get, the more compromised the health and immune system is. For me, I decided to cut out these junk food and it's been close to two years now, I've been eating healthier than I use to do.

For me, I cannot add weight no matter what I eat. This is most due to my condition and not because of the food. For me, I need more protein because my system makes it hard for the body to use protein effectively, so if means I have to prioritize it more. It's complex, most times I can't eat what regular people do.

I expect so. I've noticed that when people become older they just tend to gain weight so easily and I don't even know why this is so lol.
