It's our 6th day in Cebu City! We are visiting because of my husband's company's summer outing which happened last Saturday. We got seven days of free accommodation from the company and we are staying at Avida Towers. Tonight, my husband was craving some salad from Oh Georg so right after work, we headed to Ayala Center Cebu, his office is in JY.
Cebu is still the same - traffic! So even if JY was just near to IT Park, he decided to go to Ayala instead as it is less traffic on the other side of the route. We did reach Ayala past seven in the evening and as expected, Oh Georg is full. They got waiting line but the husband was already hungry so we resorted to finding another restaurant.
We ended up at Ulli's! We haven't tried eating here and since there were a lot of customers, we thought this should give us good food. We sat inside and looked at the menu. This restaurant offers Asian food. On the menu were foods from Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, and of course the Philippines.
I couldn't decide what to order but opted for those that sounded interesting and still felt like I would eat them. I am not very adventurous in terms of food. So when we travel, I always want to eat the ones I am used to because I don't want to have stomach issues while traveling and so I have not eaten any traditional food from those places we traveled to.
For tonight, I ordered the following:
- Hawker's Rib Rice at PHP 285
- Karate Chops at PHP 375
- Salt and Pepper Riblets at PHP 395
- Milo Dinosaur at PHP 195
We considered our little one so the Karate Chops was for him. The serving time took about 15 minutes. I was still thinking of the salad at Oh Georg.
It was a pain paying for food that didn't fulfill the hungriness in you. The Hawker Rib Rice was not good, I didn't realize it had sticky rice in it, I thought the food had some smell on it but the husband said that's just how it is because of the spices. I didn't finish it. The Karate Chops were hard and the toddler only ate the coating. My husband was not satisfied at all. I guess the only better than the rest was the riblets but it also was chewy. As for the Milo Dinosaur, the little one didn't like it either and only had two sips and he was done.
All three of us were disappointed, guess what? We learned a lesson tonight - when it comes to food - just stick to the ones you have tried before and don't even attempt to explore especially when you are already hungry!
That's it guys, I need to sleep now!
