My first venison roast! Started early in the morning and cooked low and slow for 8 hours in the crock pot with some taters and carrots and man, was it fantastic!

Last nights dinner took all day to cook, but it was well worth the wait. The smell all day going on in the house was quite nice as well!

The trick with deer meat that I have found to take out the gamey flavor is to use something acidic in the marinade, that's where a bit of rice vinegar came into play. The rest was a mix of oregano, basil, salt, pepper, and chicken broth.

I chopped up a pack of small potatoes and chopped up some carrots to cook with it. This one dish will last me at least 3 dinners if I add some rice to base it all like I did last night. Such a good dinner and the best part, it's the meat that I harvested from the woods and not a bunch of hormone and dye filled meat from the grocery store!

Anyway, happy new year everyone!

Be cool, be real, and always abide my dudes!
