On a recent visit to Carsington Water (reservoir) we popped into the dog friendly café called the Watermark. I'm not sure if I've been in this café before. If I have, I think it's a long time ago. Anyway, customers can either eat in or take out. We decided to eat in to warm up a bit. It was quite busy despite the foggy weather but we managed to get a seat.

The café is also a gift shop. It was nice and clean inside. We were the only people in there with a dog which usually helps matters. We opted for a cappuccino made with oat milk and a decaffeinated cappuccino. We were a bit hungry so we also ordered some food. I had a vegan pasty.

The pooch was looking for his mum to come back. He was on high alert until she returned to the table.

The coffee was really nice and creamy, thanks to the oat milk. I'm not sure why we had to have our coffee in takeaway cups, unless they'd run out of proper cups.

The pasty was quite spicy. They actually forgot to bring it to me so I had to go and find out where it was. My friend had already eaten her meal by the time mine arrived. Apart from one waitress who could have benefitted from going to charm school, it was a pleasant enough visit.
